I am new to customizing content. I just mod stuff from others that I want a certain color or whatnot, and I don't upload anything to share since I have just been doing recolors for my personal use. I have recently found a few hairstyles I really like, but the texture is very bland. I was wondering if anyone could explain how I might be able to just upload the texture from another creator that makes the hair look more real. Since I've been modding for a while, I really don't like the cartoonish style the sims hair usually has, and the person who made the mesh used just the basic sims hair texture. I have looked around the tutorials, but I didn't see anything about this. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place so please feel free to point me in the right direction.

Hello, poisonkeyblade. check this tutorial, you can learn how to export-import and apply custom texture (not from another hair). You can export-import in PNG format with transparent background, no need to export in DDS anymore. Every custom texture is designed specifically for the mesh so most likely it won't look good on another mesh if you want to try using another creator's texture. You can create your own and place highlights and lowlights wherever your like (tutorial), or you can use swatches created by another users (swatches).
