Hey guys, I just got a new computer and downloaded s4s (latest version of jackpot) and blender 2.70, I was testing an object in blender earlier and tried assigning cut numbers to it, but the S4Studio Cas Tools is nowhere to be found, I've never had this problem before, so I am wondering if there is a way to fix this issue. I have windows 10, and I don't think that is the issue, because I also tried doing the same thing on a laptop that I have that runs on windows 7 and the same thing happened, so I am unsure what to do :/ (Re-installing blender didn't seem to help either)

Did you point the Studio to your new Blender path and, after that, did a new export on the mesh? I am not 100% sure on this but I believe Studio puts the correct stuff in your Blender files on the first mesh export, going by the error it will return when your Blender path can't be found. If you just went to Win10 it might not have put the files in the Blender folder yet.

Hi Phyre, I seemed to have solved the issue now after 3 hours of fiddling with it, I went to user preferences and clicked on the " install from file" button, from there I navigated to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio\Blender\Scripts\ and clicked on io_sims.py after that the option to activate " import-export: sims 4 studio blender tools" showed up, ticked the option and the s4studio cas tools became available again. Thank god I was able to find a solution or I would have gone nuts lol. Thank you for your help!

I am happy you managed to fix it! Something must have prevented the plugin/script from being installed automatically somehow.

jasminewhite1019 and iwantthis..... For my Windows 10 Dell,(or most Windows computers), my file is actually C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio (V 3.0.1.9) Harmony\Blender\Scripts\
To follow daer0n's instructions, Open the the Blender App. Go to 'File' category, then select 'User Preferences'. Go to the 'Addons' Category. Scroll to the bottom and select 'Install From File'. Follow the link I posted above [For some of you, it may be (x32) or (x64)] C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio (V 3.0.1.9) Harmony\Blender\Scripts\. Next, double-click on the io_sims.py file. You will be exited automatically out of your selection path, and should have installed it on your computer.

Does this work on Blender 2.83? When I try to export it keeps saying I need Blender 2.70 still. I was trying to check if I can upgrade :p

Blender 2.8+ does not support some older computers. You can work in newer versions so long you use 2.7 or 2.76 as a bridge. (Once you finish in 2.83, save, open 2.7, choose File - Append, append the mesh from that file, add cut numbers and type, save)

EDIT: I resolved the issue for myself by actually installing Blender 2.70a onto my laptop. Before I had just been using the zip file method because I use different versions of Blender, but that seemed to be an issue for installing the io_sims.py addon. I went to user preferences and clicked on the "install from file" button, from there I navigated to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio\Blender\Scripts\ and clicked on io_sims.py after that the option to activate "import-export: sims 4 studio blender tools" showed up, ticked the option and the s4studio cas tools became available again. When I tick the option I get the following error message: Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello please explain more in detail how you got S4Studio CAS Tools to show up, where is "install from fie", "import-export: sims 4 studio blender tools" where are all these?? You first want to navigate to File > User Preferences as seen here: From there you want to go to the Addons menu and once you're there navigate to the button that says "Install from File" like this: From there you want to navigate to " C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio\Blender\Scripts\" or " C:\Program Files (x86)\Sims 4 Studio (V 3.0.1.9) Harmony\Blender\Scripts\" depending on your computer. After that, double click on the io_sims.py file. If everything went well this should work.
