Hello! I'm trying to do some shoes, I have all meshing done and everything. The thing is now, can I have 2 separated meshes for shoes? Like s4studio_mesh_1 and s4studio_mesh_2 actually working in s4studio? Cause I tried but the second one is not showing up. Do I need to change some value to a specific number or something? Like the cut? I want 2 different meshes cause I will like to make the second mesh transparent,so I need to change the shader of that part only. I checked several EA's shoes to use as a reference but most of these have only one mesh, so I don't know how to do it. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for your reply :D, I saw this tutorial but it's not very clear in the part of adding geometry, or at least, I couldn't understand it. Guess I have to keep trying :(

hi sweetie! I'm sorry I'm not very savvy on the shoes department, but don't long boots have more than two groups? maybe that can help to get you started. then you can mess with the region type so they don't hide or disappear with certain clothes.

Why don't you just use the alpha to make it transparent where you want it.

Why don't you just use the alpha to make it transparent where you want it. cas objects don't have an alpha shader.. instead you have to use the glass shader. (which might cause transparency issues)

(which might cause transparency issues) Yes, I'm afraid you can't do that. If you modify the alpha of the texture only it will end up looking black, not transparent. As inabadromance said cas objects don't have an alpha shader, you need to change the shader to glass shader to get the transparent look. That's why I need separated meshes. Thanks anyway!

hi! that's why I suggested boots or any base game shoe with more than one group. so one group can have a skin shader and the other glass. the issue would just be editing the region to match one group shoes.

You could indeed use boots to use one of the groups there. The problem you might have tho, is that depending on the pants the sim is using, you might have part of it that disappears. This is originally made with boots to simulate the trousers being tucked in them. Using boots you could do the trick of using your second or third group as the "leg" part of the boots while ou would have fuse both groups into the first one for the other group. Leaving you with foot + part of the leg as one group and your second mesh as the other group. I don't know if it is possible to disable the function that makes pants getting tucked into boots. Cause that might ruin everything. And I am pretty sure it happens because the pant checks the shoes and if it sees the 2nd and 3rd group in the package, it just removes it's own similar groups so that the trousers appear tucked in.
I would advise you to test this, but I doubt it is a viable solution unfortunately.
On the texture alpha part it would not turn black, it would make a transparence in the same kind as leggings so more like the color underneath would become a bit visible. But this would not be transparent.

Well, after reading it, all you need is the link given by @jakea All the informations are in it. How to create additional groups and have studio read them for example which is the main thing you need.
