How Do I Transfer My Sim From The CAS Background To Another?

Ok so I'm currently working on making custom thumbnails but..when using alpha hair like me it's kinda hard to "cut" around the edges of the hair and then copy-paste the sim in my background...
I've seen a tut on Tumblr doing something with the alpha (channel not hair) but I've completely forgot where I found it nor I know what to "Google" for it..
And now every time I try doing the thumbnails my sim ends up with blue inside the hair edges (cause of the actual CAS background that's blue..)
So how do I exactly do this thing?? BTW my background colour is a black to grey ombre one....
