I am wondering if it is possible to make parts of the mesh invisible? I was thinking of using glass, but it only makes the whole mesh appear shiny instead of transparent. I am not sure if it is possible to make parts of the mesh invisible or if I am going about it completely wrong.

I believe it black white an grey is use for painting the black being the invisible one on texture white = solid grey = transparent black- invisible if you color that part in a 2d editor I think I've heard this before in video about texture make them see thur and orangemittens has tutorial for this as well I think on here to. I do hope this helps. this all that I know bout this.

I do hope this helps. this all that I know bout this. Just to clarify, its the alpha layer you need to change, making it black where you don't want texture will make it invisible.
