Good morning. I wonder if anyone knows the solution to this: I am currently half way through creating a matching counter/cabinet set, and I am having what I believe to be a lighting issue. The way light affects the counter is different from the cabinets. I've ruled out a texture issue, diffuse/normal/spec. If I place the objects OUTSIDE, and not under the influence of any artificial light, I have no problems: (Sorry about the google drive links, I can't seem to get it to allow me to embed in this post, they vanish after a few seconds. I will update this thread when I find a free image host.)But if placed inside, the counter appears darker, and also, the full height cabinet casts a slight shadow over the adjacent counter... Any thoughts please ?? Cabinet PackageCounter Package

Hi fifthace2007 they have different though similar shaders. At the EA board meeting they creatively called the cabinet shader "cabinet" and the counter shader "counter" you need to change one of them, which one shouldn't matter buts its a bit of trek through the warehouse to find it so follow me :D In the warehouse tab click on the model line, some will have a grey'ed out mesh they are called model LOD, ignore them they are the shadows, you want the ones that have a checker board type texture on them in the preview window. Then click on the data tab at the top of the preview window. Get a cup of coffee and try and not to get lost lol Lods - edit items Make sure HighDetail Flags is highlighted on the left Meshes - edit items Make sure Cabinet is highlighted Entries - edit items You will see the shader drop down section on the right, it is on cabinets in my case so you would change it counters. If this does not work there a couple of other things (edge splitting in blender or deleting the occluders in the warehouse), but try that first because it will be half your problem at the least.

Yahtzee!
As soon as I read "shaders" I knew exactly what you meant. I'd already come across them when I was playing with the glass...can't believe I didn't twig. One of those "doh!" moments.
You're a star, cheers!
I changed the shader in the counters rather than the cabinets, as the counter tops are seperate from the units so I am able to leave the counter tops with the counter shader, the cabinet still casts a shadow over them then, which is more accurate.
