Please forgive me if this has already been asked or there is already a tutorial on this subject but I have been looking all over and may have missed it. I'm also very new to creating items with TS4. I'm only familiar with 1,2&3. I'm trying to create a pair of "skin tight" shorts and the underwear I started the project with on S4S is showing through. I hope this makes sense... Here's a photoany help would be oh so appreciated!

hi! i believe what you see is the underwear's bumpmap if you used an underwear as a base. You can read more about it on this tutorial. To make the bumpmap (and specular) show up you'll need to clone the item you used with the 3d mesh option. If you don't want to create your own bumpmap, just export the bumpmap texture. Open it on PS, grab de eyedrop and pick the background color of the texture. Then go to edit, fill select foreground color and apply. Do the same on the alpha channel

I've read the tutorial and did exactly what you said and for some reason my lower body is now shiny. But the underwear lines are gone! I tried deleting the bump map entirely with the same results. I've also tried coloring in the alpha map with all black instead of grey...again same results. Also I got this message when I tried to save the edited bump map in photoshop with the nvidia dds plugin. Photo of shiny legs HEREEdit: I also tried to see if it was my texture that was making the shiny legs but that doesn't appear to be the issue.

hi! if you're getting a message with "it will loose alpha" then you're saving it with the wrong format. You have to save the textures with alpha channel with dxt5 (with alpha).
Also, don't ever delete anything! Everything needs to be modified if you don't want the current state of it but deleting stuff only causes more issues.

I undid the deletion, I was just testing out things to see what worked. Saving it correctly the way you said still left me with the tiniest bit of shine in the shape of the underwear so I did the same method from your first post to THIS file and that fixed it. Just mentioning it for anyone else having this issue. Thank you so very much! Yay!! Fixed Shorts
