So I received my new desktop on Saturday and managed to get it set up yesterday (I needed an operating system). Anyway, I started downloading Sims 4 at 3PM on Monday, left it to download overnight and then when I woke up this morning, it was downloaded. However, I went to play the game and it turned out extreamily laggy. The lag is unbearable and the framerate it just so poo. I have contacted EA this morning and the guy sent me an email with things to do to help the game. However, nothing he suggested helped. I'm really stuck. I have even tried the game with the lowest settings but to no avail- it's still so laggy and unbearable to the point where I can't even play it. I need help :( Also, I am waiting for a member of the EA team to come on Live Chat but the waiting time is up to 45 minutes.
Here are a couple of my computer specs that I know off of the top of my head:
8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive, Quad Core.
Sorry for the very crappy description of my specs, I'll post more detailed ones in the comments in a minute.

Really late reply, don't know if you fixed this yet or not, but one thing I found that helped for my game was to turn off Origin-In Game. To do this, open Origin, right click on The Sims 4 in your game library, and click Game Properties. You will see a little tick box that says "Enable Origin In Game for The Sims 4." Untick it. That really helped for me; my game was laggy and choppy prior to doing that a few months ago, now it runs smooth even in windowed mode and with a bunch of programs running (usually Sims4Studio and Photoshop, haha ).

Hi brittpinkiesims, Thanks for the response. I have actually fixed this issue, I was meant to post saying that I had fixed it, but I forgot to. I found the issue was that my Graphics Card was incredibly low spec, so I upgraded it and it works fine now. Thanks anyway!
