Hi there! For a beginner in meshing, you're pretty damn good at it! Those earrings are hella cute, so when they're finally out to the world (if you wish to publish them, that is) I would love to have these earrings in my game . So you want to create a UV map for your earrings but after doing the Smart UV mapping, the mesh came out like this. I believe this is because the Smart UV mapping makes the UV maps unwrapped, which basically means that your UV map is turned into a crash net for your mesh. To solve this problem, I would recommend not doing the Smart UV mapping, but creating your own UV map manually. To do this, you can select the vertices and create a UV map from them (I'm every so sorry for my poor explanation, I do not have Blender on my computer at the moment due to my poor graphics card, so I cannot open Blender to see what I'm talking about- also, I'm really awful at explaining without the source, but when I'm in Blender, I can wiz through- anyway, again, I apologise). Here are two links to tutorials to help you out: Here is a link to the full online manual for custom content creators, thanks to the lovely orangemittens: www.sims4studio.com/thread/662/index-studio-tutorials-online-manualHere is the tutorial on UV mapping that I think you will find useful- also, this particular accessory tutorial is also on creating new earrings, to make it super easy for you : sims4studio.com/thread/164/start-finish-accessory-mesh-beginners If you have any more problems or need help understanding anything, please do not hesitate to ask ~ GeometricSims (Kate)

I'm glad I could be of assistance! Have a nice day and remember, do not worry if things don't go to plan at first. I literally spent weeks upon weeks trying to make CC. Stay determined! (Sneaky Undertale reference).

GeometricSims I am so sorry for being such a noob even after going through such a detailed UV mapping tutorial. I don't understand where to mark the seams in these oval shaped thingies. I have marked a seam at one edge loop on each of these (I hope it's visible to you), and after un-wrapping it turns out like that, with different shapes even though they are all shaped exactly the same. What should I do now?

What kind of texture are you planning for this earring? Are you planning on mapping it in the standard earring section of the CAS UV map? If so, the minor differences in the size of the map sections representing the ovals don't really matter much. The section of the map given for earrings doesn't allow for much fine detail anyway and if you're planning on making them something like a solid colored metal, differences in texture resulting from differences in the wouldn't show up anyway. Tbh, I think baking the mesh is more important here than a precision map is. Take a look at the accessory earring tutorial I wrote. The pictures there show the size of the map you have to work with for a standard earring map. It also shows step by step what you need to do to take what you have already made and turn it into an earring the Sims can wear in the game.

I was wondering how I could make the sphere's texture seamless?

Hi there, I am ever so sorry for the delayed response- for some reason, after installing my graphics card into my computer, it somehow disconnected the internet :S I'm back on now though. So you need to mark the seems along the edges of the mesh.

hi de-lvia (i can't tag your user). in edit mode you'll have to find the center of your sphere. Hold alt, and right click on the edge of the center line. All the middle edge should be selected and orange. Go into UV from the left sidebar and press "mark edge". now select all the sphere by holding L and hovering over it. Unwrap. You'll have two sides of the sphere to uv.
I'm seeing that all that earring on it's own is almost 6k. that is going to make the pair 12k. In my opinion that's a little too much, you might want to reduce the polygons by decimating the mesh. You'll have to re do the UV for that, since it's going to mess it up. If you don't want to decimate the highest lod, i would highly recommend at least doing it for the lower lods.
