Hi! So, I'm not recoloring CC, I'm actually recoloring something in the Base Game. It's the Aayla Secura Star Wars hat-thing. I've gotten everything properly recolored, but I'm having trouble with the lips. I want to be able to continue using lip makeup (and I would like to use other makeup as well, but I've noticed that it's kind of hard to acheive. At least with what I have available). However, I cannot color close enough to the lips without the color either getting on the lips themselves, or without the original blue still peeking through. I'm also using GIMP for all of this, as I do not have and am unable to get Photoshop. My resources are limited to programs that are free. If there's any solution for this, I'd be very grateful! And also, at the moment, I plan on only using these for personal use. At least until I get better at making CC. I'm kind of stuck with doing recolors for now, as I have not yet attempted figuring out how to make a mesh. Thank you to anyone who may have a solution!

Hey forgottenbytime! Welcome to sims 4 studios! I'm not sure I will have a solution to your problem yet, but it would be helpful if you could post a picture or 2 of your dilemma? That way people could see what your exact problem is and may be able to help you better achieve what you want. I think a lot of people here use Gimp (Including me - I love it) so I don't think that will be an issue. Glad you're here! Stop by and introduce yourself if you'd like in the Studio community section

Hey forgottenbytime ! Welcome to sims 4 studios! I'm not sure I will have a solution to your problem yet, but it would be helpful if you could post a picture or 2 of your dilemma? I think a lot of people here use Gimp (Including me - I love it) so I don't think that will be an issue. Glad you're here! Stop by and introduce yourself if you'd like in the Studio community section Thanks! Here are a couple of pictures of what's happening. This is when I color over the lips entirely, which, if you can imagine, looks very weird when there's either a little bit of the original blue or any other color on the lips. I tried 3 or 4 different kinds of lipstick/lip makeups to show what's going on. I tried to use the most colorful ones to better show the problem. The last one is the closest I got to the actual color. I'll also include a picture of how it looks in Gimp Black Lipstick ~ imgur.com/ovBdL27Blue Lipstick ~ imgur.com/fbIKvyNGreen Lipstick ~ imgur.com/kv8soHKRed Lipstick ~ imgur.com/byxS2v4In Gimp ~ imgur.com/wcMgf8RThis version is also slightly messy and needs redone, as it was my first one, because you can still see the original blue color in various places. I have others that I've started, but don't want to continue with them until I have a solution for the lips problem.

I may be wrong on this so anyone feel free to correct me, without actually opening the files for a closer look it appears that it is a simple alpha channel issue. As the piece you are re-coloring covers the entire face essentially, the alpha on the lips overlays it's colors on the lipstick. If you edit the alpha to fully omit the lip portion it should solve your issue. Hope that is of some help!
