Sooo... hey there! I'm currently trying to create a "Drawing mod" and I've already started with the 3D models: As you can see I cloned an easel model and replaced it with the drafting table from TS3. My current obstacle is to replace certain lines and debug objects without influencing the other easels. For example I want to replace the canvas with a sheet of paper or the brush with a pen. But I don't want to change the way other easels work.
My question just is: Can you replace STBL files [e.g. "paint" to "draw"] and models so other objects don't get influenced? Sorry If my question was unclear, I hope I don't bother anyone.

hi, welcome to the forums! I suggest you trying to mess with the slots that control how things are positioned (both item and sims' bones). Rotate them and move them closer (All of them have to be moved equally.. if you move 0.1 then all the lots must be moved 0.1) to your model. You can check how to edit the slots here.

Thanks for the quick response! But is there any way to tilt slots?

I'm on my phone rn. I know that an easel from buffsumm on tsr has tilted slots. head over to her page on thesimsresource and check the package of that item. edit: I'm on my pc now, and i'm looking at the package i suggested you. You have to go to the warehouse / rig / bones and i believe the number you should edit is the orientation. Follow the tutorial i linked above to get the numbers.

Sooo. I've almost figured out the rotation and stuff: But my sim keeps canceling their interaction. Is it because the canvas is interferes the mesh? [seen in circle]

oh cool!! well, this requires a lot of testing as you can imagine. It possibly be due to that.Try to move it up keeping the same orientation and out of the mesh.

Mh... Still, even with a gap between table and canvas, my sims will not start painting :( Still thanks a lot for the rotation tutorial www.mediafire.com/download/w3ag5dewl5824rn/casf_DraftingTableWIP.packageI don't know if this is useful, but I've uploaded the current WIP version, maybe someone can find the error I hope it still will be usable, even with that angle :(

i'm sorry, i'm not really sure what could be wrong. Did you test it if it was working before editing the rotation? Maybe it just can't be used if rotated :/
edit: hey! Do you mind explaining how did you rotate the slot? did you edit the transform on slot too? i'm seeing so many numbers i get super lost!

Do you mean Absolute and Local Transform? If so they are greyed out and uneditable. Edit: Soo. Yeah, I started from stratch again and left the rotation alone. And it worked again, so no rotation for this baby! The solution I came up with is adding a "stand" to the mesh, so it looks more realistic. (Doy ou know a good stand mesh?) And since I don't want to complete any more big tasks for this weekend, [due to the rotation issue] the tasks I want to finish within this weekend are: - Replacing the painting animation with the "Focused paintin" one (only for this object)
- Replacing the brush with a pencil (only for this object)
- Getting rid of the paint splash effects
But still thank you a lot for the help, I really appreciate it! And I hope I can use rotation on future CC

Ow that's sad. i'm sorry that it couldn't work properly. I'm not sure what you mean by stand, any inspiration pics?
I was referring to were to grab the numbers for rotation and were exactly to put them XD.

does removing the footprint help the angled one at all?
[sorry if dumb answer, idk, i make most things w/o footprints, also i really want the angled one to work lol]

Mh... even deleting the footprint didn't help :( And by stand I mean something similar to a frame stand: Basically just to sticks to hold the canvas. Edit: If I figure out how to replace the canvas with a sheet of paper I would like to have a stand holding a sketch book. We'll see how this goes!

Love this idea! Were you ever able to finish this project?
