Heya! Somehow the vertex paint in Blender won't work for me. I can apply colors to it, but when I try to use a brush to do it manually nothing happens. Any thoughts on this?

Hi AaronSimBoy. May be it's a silly question but did try to re-start blender and computer? Re-starting computer simply solved many of glitches in 3DS Max for me when re-starting the program didn't help.

Make sure its solid not textured
Keep the mouse button pressed as you do it, like a spray can.
Shift and k will bucket fill it.

Heya! The brush doesn't work, I tried restarting the PC and tried painting another model. Making a new brush also didn't change this. The only thing I can do is bucket fill, I had the same problem with my lamp mesh... :'(

Hold the mouse button down, keep and down and move the cursor around, it should work

Nope, sorry! I tried it with LMB, MMB and RMB, nothing. Somehow it doesn't want to paint. I tried to look it up on google, blender forums, sites and blogs, but no luck so far. :'(

I just tried it with the starting cube of blender, but there it didn't work too I'm afraid.

Could you share your .blend file? From your description it feels like that it's either a problem with blender settings if you can't vertex paint anything or may be you chose let's say texture paint option and it doesn't work (sometimes that can happen). So it's better to check your file on somebody else's machine. Also check the strength of your brush. If it's set to 0 you won't see any color when you do vertex paint.

Then just click on on the mesh. Ive just discovered you only have to hold down to paint when the radius is smaller. You will need to play with it later

Just tried it on the cube again, nothing I'm afraid. Here's the .blend file, if it works then it's in my blender program, but I haven't changed any settings, except for scroll to mouse.. .blend

Reset blender to default (revert to factory setting or whatever it is)

Your file works for me. also as a side note it is better to work with more vertices with vertex painting. Subdivide your cube and try again maybe. (your cube was painted full white but the bottom face btw)
Does the weight painting works ?

Hi Zelrish! I subdevided the cube, every side only paints 1/4 of it now. Weight painting has no issues.
