Hello everyone. I'm new here in the forum and is seeking your expert advice please.
I already installed Sims4studio in my PC, when I open it, it's asking for a Gamepath? I have no Sims 4 game. I only want to view a Sims4 object that I got from another creator (already asked permission) so I can convert it for The Sims 1 game. Is that possible? Thank you so much in advance.
Yuri

Hello yuripuda! Welcome to Sims4Studio forum. You need to have The Sims 4 installed on your computer. In order to work Sims4Studio requires some game files.

Oh I see. Thank you for the lightning speed response, Feyona. I have Sims4 cd lying around here(got it as a gift!)that I want to install so bad but I don't think my laptop can handle it. I have win7 starter with Intel(R) Atom(TM)CPU N570 1 .66GHz 1.67GHz RAM: 1.00GB System type: 32-bit OS Do you think I can run it? Another question: Is there anyway or another program I can use to view package files that don't require me to install Sims4? Sorry for asking noob questions. I am not the techie type of person. :(

Hey Yuripuda. It is as Feyona says. On the other hand you can use s4pe without having the game installed and see the content of your package. You could then export the geom files from it and work with them in, I suppose, Milkshape.
EDIT : Otherwise you can install the sims 4 you don't need to launch it to use sims4studio. You will be able to edit the package.

Hi Zelrish! I have Milkshape but I can't (or I don't know how to) import the cc sims4 packagefile I want to view. I will download s4pe like you suggested. Thank you very much. I'll look it up right now.

If you own Sims 4, I suggest installing it to see if this will work out for you. Studio just needs to look at the game files (it doesn't need you to actually start and run the game). Also, to the best of my knowledge, there is no plugin for s4pe that allows mesh export in a format that is recognized by a 3D editor (that is, it will not export meshes from the .package for use with Blender or Milkshape) and it is an unsupported, outdated program that I don't recommend using. The Mac version of Studio doesn't require the game to be installed to run, and that's the plan for the Windows version too.

I thought you could export the geom and rename them as simgeom to import them into Milkshape through the old plugin from the sims 3. That how I started modding on the sims 3 and that was srsly a pain in the rear. (Did not work half the time).
I think the best solution is anyway to install the game to be able to launch s4s but that is a really old computer. It is possible that it doesn't want to install because it doesn't meet the requirement. If it lets you install on the other hand then go for it.
PS : I didn't know that s4s mac didn't require the game installed. Gonna try that right away!

As I said, there is no plugin for Sims 4. You are discussing a plugin that was made for another game and even as a plugin for that game it was abandoned long before it was complete or even reliable. I would not recommend anyone use outdated and unsupported plugins or tools for Sims 4 when there are constantly updated, fully supported tools available that don't require any plugins, outdated or otherwise. This site is a support forum for Sims 4 Studio only and discussions about the use of outdated tools or plugins are not appropriate here. Studio Mac does not require the game to be installed to open CC .packages. The next series of the Windows version, as a reconciliation version, will also not require the game installed.
