I remember seeing something on how to connect one thumbnail to multiple swatches (without importing one by one) in sims 4 studio. Does anyone have the link to that - or know how to do it? Thank you ~ <3 I heard it also makes the package size smaller.

@misters Nah not the overlay thing. Like having a custom thumbnail apply to all swatches. When i open up others packages and goto the Warehouse tab theres a thumbnail for each CAS Part. Im like thinking of connecting one thumbnail to all the CAS parts/swatches - if that makes sense, sorry if im not explaining it properly. Though thinking of it now - I guess i can use the overlay feature for that too tho - but instead of just a text or an icon or something i use a whole image. I'll test it out and let you know ! thanks.

Yes, you're correct. Using the overlay feature also works for getting an image for all swatches. If you make your thumbnail and use that feature it will copy for all the swatches as it was an overlay.

Ohkayy so I tried this and it didn't really work out. It made all my thumbnails blurry ;-;. Does anyone know of a different solution? ^^ Or like I said if its possible to link multiple CASP to one thumbnail :3. Thank you!
EDIT : For now i just imported the thumbnail to each swatch indvidually as usual but I'll leave this opened if anyone has another solution - or if there was a reason they came out blurry when trying the overlay feature ;-;

This is an easy one. - Add your thumbnail to the first swatch then go to the WAREHOUSE TAB and select the DST IMAGE resource (the one of your thumbnail).
- Click the tab on the right above the image that says DATA.
- Copy the INSTANCE number.
- Select each of the CAS PART resources and scroll all the way to the bottom.
- Paste the instance into the VariantThumbInstance field.
EDIT: I did a quick test and this is for the custom thumbnail (the little 32x32) not the catalog thumbnail. The catalog thumbnail must have the same instance as the swatch you are working with for it to show up. As far as the blurriness, what format are the images you are working with in? Share the .package and image you are using and someone can take a look at it.

@brujah - Ah thanks for this! Ill try this out on my next project sometime ^^ Just a slight bit confused on your edit though - this method for linking it to one only works for the custom thumbnail and not the catalog thumbnail? Sorry just don't want to misinterpret what you said :3.
I was just using the regular .png format and the usual thumbnail size (i forgot the size you need to use but I use old thumbnails i made when i looked up the size as reference) - it worked importing it one by one, but when trying to do so with the overlay feature it made the image blurry (except the first swatch, the black color). I just left it as is (importing one by one) But ill try to duplicate the error again and post that package ^^. Part of me feels like it was because the default thumbnails weren't loading for the different swatches (when you dont put any custom ones and go into game - the generated ones) - it was a hair, when highlighting over the different swatches they stood black (which is the first swatch's color) but with the accessories the colors changed to the different swatches' colors.
Like i said ill try to duplicate the error again and post that package ! Unfortunately i don't have the package that was giving me the issue anymore because i just saved over it (And now the overlay function works fine, but i feel that was because i imported them one by one)
Really appreciate your response tho and will try to update you as soon as i can!

Hi eliavah, I opened your .package, exported the first thumbnail, and then, using the overlay feature as usual, imported that same image back. All the thumbnails showed up crisp and clear with no blurring. I then created a new .package, imported your image, and got the same situation you got...that is the first was crisp but subsequent thumbnails were blurry. It looks like Studio is getting confused by the idea of putting an overlay into a spot where there is no existing thumbnail to overlay (it is expecting an image to be there already). This can be fixed so that Studio will be able to import the "overlay" without something already there to overlay. In the meantime, just redoing the exact same overlay procedure (using your thumbnail image) on the .package with blurry thumbnails should replace the blurs with your image.
