So I am trying to recolour a lipstick for personal use. I like a gazillion shades of one colour. However the problem I am having is the lightning in game. The lipstick looks way lighter then in photoshop. Let's take this colour swatch. If I where to pick the first colour it would turn out like the second in game. What can I do about this? Picking a darker colour isn't really what I want. Here's what I am doing. I am taking one texture of for example PS and then use hue/saturation to change colour. And then a brighness & contrast layer to make the lipstick darker. If I just use a hue/saturation layer to change the colour on the texture it will already look horrible light in the game. I use photoshop

midnightsky take a look at composition method. What number do you see? If it's 1-4, set it to 0. This might solve the problem. See this post. Also what format do you use? Is it .PNG or .DDS? If it's .DDS (as I understand you edit somebody's texture) you might need to edit alpha channel. It looks like it's semi-transparent, that's why lipstick looks more pale in the game. But without seeing the file I am just guessing.

Thank for telling me about the composition method. I didn't know that existed and it did the trick.
