Hi, I am new to this meshing stuff and I need some help using and understanding blender.
First I need help editing a mesh, i.e. deleting parts, cutting and joining parts to form a new mesh/mesh part, i.e. take a short pendant necklace cut it where the chain meets the pendant and then copy part of the chain and the pendant and join them all together as one new longer pendent necklace mesh.
Also I need help in combining multiple meshes into one new mesh, i.e. make a new dress from parts of multiple dress meshes, just like you would do with a picture cut and paste together, a bit like cutting the arms from one, the body top from another and combining them with the skirt from the third dress and then you have a new outfit mesh.
I hope this makes sense?

hi! Here's a tutorial for what you want to do. You can also check the full list of tutorials here.

OK, well I am even more confused now then before I started this project, I have found out the the item that I am trying to edit has 3 separate meshes, not the usel single. Now mesh 1 and 2 are the meshes I want to edit, bt am unable to do so even after reading two tutorials and the blender manual.
So basically what I want to do is first with mesh 1 remove 3 of the 6 part completely, then move 2 parts to new locations, once I have done that the I can work on the top half of mesh 2, i.e. remove it and replace it with a new top half. Simple right, wrong I am unable to figure out how to delete the parts I do not want, relocate the parts I want to me and add a part.
Unlike using a picture editing program which which is easy just cut and paste, this 3d stuff is very complicated and by all accounts extremely hard to figure out.
So thank you to Inabadromance, for the links above, but please only reply to this post if you know how to do what I want to do, i.e. delete single parts, relocate single parts, copy and insert a new mesh part.

Hi crashdodgers, many EA CAS items have multiple meshes, so this is not unusual. The process you're describing is often known as "frankenmeshing," and inabadromance linked you to an excellent tutorial on the subject. Another tutorial that introduces basics you will need to create your project is the one I wrote showing how to make part of a full body outfit into a top. That one has a little more specific detail than untraditionalnerd's so it's a good beginner's tutorial. I suggest rather than reading through the tutorials, that you go through the tutorial and do the tutorial project. These projects were chosen because the process of making the item walks you through using basic Blender features you need to use for any other project going forward. What you have described wanting detailed explanations for, deleting things in Blender, moving mesh parts in Blender, copying mesh parts in Blender, and joining mesh parts in Blender, are all basic features of using Blender described in several of the tutorials here. If the tutorials here aren't helping, it may be that you need to go through a few basic Blender tutorials first. Those can be found by Googling Blender and the feature you want to learn. Of course, it's difficult to know whether the tutorial will help unless you give the tutorial a try rather than just reading it. The staff here knows how to perform the basic steps in Blender you have described. However, no one is going to write a personalized "how to use Blender" tutorial for you when these topics are already covered in tutorials in the tutorial section. Further, I remind you that this section is for getting help with a specific Sims 4 project that you're making with Sims 4 Studio, not for general questions about how to use Blender. That topic is covered amply in the tutorial section and elsewhere. Once you have a project going, please feel welcome to ask for help if you run into questions finishing it.

I still do not seem to understand how these tutorials are going to help me with my project. I do not want to make a top out of a full out fit. All I want to do is edit two of the meshes and input a new mesh part. All though these tutorials are great, I just can not find the information that I need, as none of these seem to help, so let explain once again what it is I want to do, i.e. step by step.
First mesh 1, has six parts and the cut no 0000, P1 necklace, P2 band around the chest, P3/P4 arm bands, P5 belt around waist, P6 band around leg. Parts I want to keep are P1, P2, P5, I want to move P5 lower and delete P3, P4, P6.
Second mesh 2, has two parts, P1 top and P2 bottom. I want to delete P1 and replace it with a new mesh top, P2 I need to modify the front by copying the top 1/4 of the mesh and rotating it back to front.
Third mesh is the Sims body, I need to keep?
So I hope you can understand want it is I want to do and why none of the tutorials are helping me, as I can do most things in meshing like all the stuff in the tutorials, but when it comes to the more detailed and complicated bits that is when I get lost. I still do not understand why these 3d programs do not have simple copy/cut/paste and delete function built in as standard in steed of all this press this key then press this key. Why not just use your mouse to drag a box around large area or even a eraser to help with smaller/precision work, i.e. just like programs such as gimp or photoshop.

I understand what you want to do. Inabadromance understood what you want to do also. This is why we linked you to tutorials that will help you learn how to do the project you're describing. I also understand you to be saying you want someone to write a special tutorial for you that shows the exact steps involved in the exact project you want to make, and you want someone to do this before you have even started working on the project.
As I stated above, the tutorials that are linked above show how to do all the steps necessary to complete the project you are describing. If you follow those tutorials from beginning to end, you will, in that process, learn to do the things necessary for the project you are describing. It doesn't matter if the tutorial project is the exact project you want to make. What does matter, is that the tutorial shows the basic steps needed to perform many projects, including yours, so they will teach you what you need to know to make the project you do want to make. Again, no one is going to write a tutorial showing the basic Blender steps involved here using your specific project as the tutorial item. The tutorials demonstrating these basic Blender steps are already written. If you go through them and run into questions, you're welcome to get help in the respective tutorial threads.
I repeat, this forum is not the place to seek general help with learning Blender, nor is it the place to request a step-by-step personalized tutorial for a hypothetical project. It is a place to ask for help with a project that you are actively working on. To that I would add, it is not the place to complain about why 3D editors aren't like 2D editors. If you want to have a conversation about the benefits and drawbacks of editors, the place to do that is Creator Feedback.
As you do not have a project in progress continued posts in this thread are unnecessary so I am locking it.
