Hi guys,
I was going through the tutorial on how to add transparency to objects. Since the version of the studio program was older than the one I have now, I was a little bit confused and can't seem to get it to work.
Basically with photoshop I created a texture that has an alpha channel to give it transparency.
I then tried to follow the tutorial but it was for a curtain and since I was trying to do it on a poster/painting, it didn't flow as well as some menu's were moved into different sections, but I'm pretty sure I managed to find it okay.
So what I did was went into the "models" section and went to edit the LOD meshes. Made sure it was the materials section under the resource tree that I was editing.
I found the variantid's and edited them to add an alphablended option, changed it to float and changed the value to 1. Then I did that to all variantid's and made sure the settings were saved on high detail, medium detail etc. I uploaded my new texture, but on the studio preview it kept showing a white background instead of a transparent one.
Now I did pick a poster/painting that did not originally have any transparency on it, I liked the size of that painting as others were either too big or too small.
Am I doing something wrong, or is it a different process for a poster/painting? Any help would be great and sorry for creating another thread so soon.

hi! have you tried the object in game? the sims 4 studio preview sometimes doesn't show the transparency in the viewport, specially if the configurations of the package have been modified. As for the tutorial, it is a bit updated since things have changed with the program as far as organization and tittles go. But ohmysims has made an updated tutorial. It's a curtain too but the steps are all the same for any kind of build/buy objects. If you don't want to be editing those things, you can export the meshes of the painting you liked and clone any tree or decorative decal that already has alpha enabled and import the meshes to that package.
