Hey guys! I've been using the S4S to make tattoos for a while now, but when I fired up the Studio yesterday to try and make some new ones, I suddenly ran into an issue I have never had before. Normally, I take the picture I wish to use, inverse the colours on the Alpha layer, and then fill the RGB layer with solid black: this makes for the nicest result, in my opinion. However, it suddenly looks like that doesn't work anymore. Somehow, Studio seems to read the .dds file as if it were a .png - at least, that's what I'm thinking is happening, because it looks exactly like that. When I test the tattoos in-game, they look completely fine. I even tried to import older .dds files that I finished weeks ago that worked fine, but I had the same result in my previews on S4S. A little comparison to what it used to look like a few weeks ago ( click) and what it looks like right now ( click). Better detail in S4S: click. This is what it looks like in S4S studio. This is what any tattoos look like when you do not fill the RGB layer with a solid colour, but instead just the normal picture: it creates these white lines around the edges. Filling the RGB layer results in this, in-game: click. Normally, the tattoo would show up the same way in S4S, but since the update, it seems that something is different. I hope that makes sense! I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before - I have looked in the forums, but haven't found something similiar. The tattoos seem to look/work fine in-game, so it definitely is just a S4S preview issue. Thanks in advance for any help!

I remember making a tattoo a year ago and the alpha functioning fine but I guess EA changed something because recently because my tattoos have looked fine in S4S but when I go in-game they are almost invisible / color is drained / it looks like it has light BLASTED on it.
I found darkening the textures (like, a lot) will make them show up as normal but you may need to fiddle with it to get the right effect.

Yeah, that problem I am familiar with as well, but it's not the problem I'm having currently :( It seems to be specifically S4S-related, because in-game everything looks fine!

Hi valkir, if you send the .package this can be investigated. Which versions of Studio were you using when you took the screenshots you showed?

Hey there! It's not specific to one package, I have tried multiple things and multiple .dds files, but regardless, this is one of the packages: here, that I made yesterday. An older version of the tattoo that I made when I didn't have any problems can be downloaded here (this is the package I put on Tumblr with custom thumbnails and stuff, feel free to ignore all that). However, even if I open this package in S4S, the preview shows the same problem, even though the tattoo was made in a previous version of S4S. This makes me assume that the problem is specifically tied to the 3D preview in S4S, since both packages seem to look/work fine in both CAS and in-game. I have been running into this problem since the City Living update, version 2.7.1.3 Jackpot (used to make the new package). The version I was using before and I am using in the screenshot where everything looked fine and what I used in the second package, is version 2.7.0.5 Jackpot. Hope that helps! As always: thanks in advance for the help, I really appreciate it!

Thanks for the information. This will be fixed in an upcoming version of Studio.
