I'm finishing up this display box project, but it looks too glossy. Particularly, it starts looking brighter as soon as I zoom out (assumably when the LOD model gets switched, but I'm actually using the same mesh and texture for all LODs on this one). Could this be a problem with the specular (which I did edit, all channels are black), a problem with lighting in the game or something, or anything else? I know my way around Blender, but I'm not too good with the studio warehouse stuff. Any ideas are appreciated. :-)

I know that it depends on the lighting but your issue seems bigger than that. I notice that the debug lights make things look weird and bright like that so if you're using those, try using the normal ones!

I recently shared blank speculars on my page, so you can try that one. You have to have a black channel too and save it as dxt5 with alpha. Also, i believe i'm noticing some shadows on the mesh that you can fix by selecting the box and splitting it's edges edges.

Thanks, I'll keep trying to get this sorted out :-)

I had this too many times and split edge worked for most of the time I do wonder if it also has something to do with placing an object between 4 walls or outside in the sunlight? I can't say for sure, but i think it made a difference for me the other day with a couch i had made. Not sure if you objects are inside the house or just on 1 wall.

Most of the problem came from me messing up the bump and specular map (inabadromance's files helped me sort it out!) but yes, I'll look into the split edges thing too. :-D I was wondering about the indoor/outdoor light thing too. Will see after more testing, I guess.
