Hi I'm having a small bit of an issue texturing, so far I have done walls and floors with no issues. My problem comes to when I re-textured/recolored some roofs, as I really wanted some black and some white roof tiles. In the studio, the textures look great. But once in game, the textures are not appearing properly. The roof trim(Atlas) seems to be fine, but the actual roof texture(Tileable) is all weird. The only textures I changed were the trim and the roof patterns under Diffuse. Did my swatches and my thumbnails. Also made sure that they are stand alone retextures. And of course using the powers of 2 (quite familiar with these as I texture on imvu) Here s what the roof looks like in studio: Here is what the roof looks like in game: The roof on the right is an i game one for comparison, the roof on the left is mine, The tileable should have been the same print as on the in game one, only much darker. Instead, I get this weird flat look. Here is the package file: www.mediafire.com/file/3xn8dtdn3lno6z1/Round_Roof.packageNow to my knowledge of reading the tut on how to texture roofs, I did everything I was supposed to. So not sure why I am getting this error. Also, I updated to the latest version of studio for Windows just last night before making a bunch of new textures (had to update because the studio was crashing out every time I tried to add a new swatch)

Its too dark for the game neph I can hardly see the texture pattern in pohotoshop, lighten it up to half way between what it is now and the original and see if it looks better. A rule of thumb with the sims, dont make anything completely black or completely white, you want it slightly off either. Making a black texture a dark grey will still look black in the game. If you still have issues we can go from there

Ok, I'll try that, going to make a test roof in blue. *edit* Ok, so I'm still gaining the same results even with using a much lighter color. So I'm not sure if it's just a bug, as I'm following all the steps I should be. image in studio: Image in game: My tileable (didn't think it was too dark): Test .package file: www.mediafire.com/?drcvp6nuj44o4ocIt's making me think that it's not taking the bump map into effect on the tileable, like it is on the atlas is

Hi neph . The reason why you get solid blue color instead of tiles on the roof is due to diffuse atlas texture was edited. Original game texture has alpha in places where you have solid blue color. On the right is your texture and on the left is game texture, I took screenshot of preview in photoshop to show where alpha suppose to be. I edited your diffuse(atlas) texture, you can use it if don't want to edit alpha yourself. It's in .PNG format, you can import in .PNG format without converting to .DDS (if you didn't know this before). Here is how it will look in the game compared to previous file (solid blue is your file and with tiles the one that I edited).

Thank you very much for your very informative reply. :D everything works awesome now. And now I know that alphas have to stay transparent to get the desired look. <3
