Picking up at step 10 of that tutorial, you need to select only the UV's of your clothing mesh. Also, you need to select a new image that is solid black to bake on as instructed in the next step. I used l select (click the lowercase L key on your keyboard while holding your mouse over the sections of your top to use this) to select just your top in the pic below: One thing to note is that you currently have your top mapped in a very small space. You might want to consider moving it and enlarging it.

@candyhologram when you bake the texture of 1 piece mesh it will be baked entirely. You can still use your baked texture, just remove unnecessary parts in editing program. But I don't think that you can get nicely baked texture of the top due to the size of UV. I recommend trying scaling it up, moving somewhere below, bake, save baked texture for editing and move UV back. Also if you plan to bake the shadow you won't be able to do this due to the UV placement.
