IntroductionThis tutorial will show you how to get rid of unwanted image effects on CAS items (see below for an example). It assumes you know how to clone an item and make a basic recolor. What you will needSims 4 Studio 3.0.0.6 (Harmony) or above InstructionsClone the item you wish to work with. I have selected the EA butterfly top because it has obvious shiny areas, shadows, and ridges that will appear on your garment unless you edit or blank the images associated with these attributes. Swap out the texture for your new recolor and, if you're making a new mesh, swap out the meshes. For this tutorial, I used EA's purple tank top mesh and diffuse texture and used those to replace the butterfly top originals. In the game, the butterfly top's specular (causes the butterfly-shaped shiny area), shadow (causes the brown lines), and normal (aka bump, this causes the ridge where the edge of the shorter top used to be) maps can be clearly seen. As long as I don't want to edit them, I can simply get rid of them. If you don't want the old shadow on your new item, click on the first image listed underneath the Diffuse. It will say Shadow. You will notice a purple button that says "Make Blank" appear below. Click that to remove the shadow image: Click on the Specular image line and click the "Make Blank" button to remove the shininess: Repeat for the Normal (aka bump) image if you don't want EA's bump: If the item has an emission map (if it has glowing parts) that you don't want, repeat for that image also. When you are done getting rid of each image you don't want, click the Save button and test your item in the game.
