Hi everyone. Like the title says, I am brand new at creating content for Sims 4, though I did a bit of playing around years ago in Sims 3 (and forgot most of it). All of the videos and tutorials I watch use an older version of Sims 4 Studio which simply has one button to export textures. In the newer version, there are different options to export textures - diffuse, shadow, specular, normal, and emission. This is really confusing me. Which one do I choose? Right now I'm just trying to make a simple recolor of a piece of clothing to learn the basics with.
Any help/explanations will be appreciated, and sorry for the complete noobness of the question.
EDITED TO ADD:
I figured it out after hours of watching old TS3 videos and trying and failing things in S4S. Here's what I've got so far, please correct me if I'm wrong: Diffuse - This is the actual texture that will show on the piece of content Shadow - Almost like the bumpmap of old Specular - Alpha layer, white is what will show on the Sim, black is what is transparent Emission - Still no idea.

Diffuse is your texture
Shadow is just that
Specular is the shine
Normal also known as bump map is the creases etc
emisions is something I never mucked with (someone will enlighten us)
To recolor you just need the diffuse. Shadow is usually only an issue when you chop meshes off in blender, you need to "chop" shadow texture too then If there are shiny bits you want to remove (or add) you need the specular Normal. If there are bumps, creases, collars, buttons that still show up after a recolor its the normal doing it
Have a look at them all and will be able to see what I mean.

There are a lot of tutorials in the CAS/Pose tutorial section that may help get you started. Making things for Sims 3 was a lot different than it is for Sims 4 so learning by referencing Sims 3 tutorials is sorta the hard way to go and it isn't needed The emission map is used to make glowing CAS items like the alien full body suit. There are a couple tutorials in the CAS/Pose section that show how to use it.

Thanks a lot! I didn't really look at the pose tuts, because I didn't think it was relevant, but I'll be sure to check them out now.
