Hi I am trying to modify a CC item that does not have a specular image from following the tutorial on here ( at least I think so ) anyway I follow what it says to do I import my images for the specular channel they are in PNG format I set everything else up then save it.. But when I exit and then reenter that project the black alpha mask background has become white and not sure why it does it but it is annoying since not sure why it is doing it..
Any help please would be greatly appreciated thank you as not sure why this is happening..

hi! Can you please share the package so someone can see it?
You don't explain what type of item you're working with, whether is from CAS or a build/buy object. Remember that if you work with PNG as opposed to .dds, then the background of your image must be transparent and not white.

Thank you for the help, I would love to share the item but I am modifying another creators creation.. But I figured out the problem it was Gimp that for some reason when doing duplicate layers of the texture for lightening the image and then flattening the image it was turning the original transparent background to white.. Still have to work out why it was doing it and how to stop it..

oh i see! glad that you found what the problem was. I do not have experience with Gimp, but i'll leave this thread open in case someone knows more about it. Usually when you "flatten" layers, they will do this. You need to combine them instead.
