I am attempting to make my own 'skyline' backdrop in willow creek using Bakie's tutorial. its going sorta fine i can change the backdrop perfectly but the 'mesh' of the backdrop is sorta '3d' and i need it flat so that the mountain will look right. anyone have any suggestions or is it sorta stuck this way. in the show there is a city behind the mountain . perhaps there is a mountain mesh backdrop that would be better suited for this? i really would like this somewhere in my game as a visual backdrop but I want it to look smoother than this for sure.

perhaps is there a way to remove the shadow/light source from it and that would make it at least appear flat?

considerign these are the same file/image and look totally different in different areas im gonna assume there is nothing i can do about the "folded" areas. instead could i focus on removing 'shadow' effects?

Hi sammoyke, I got the exact same problem with some of my un-released backdrops. I remembered that someone ?? made a new mesh for it, but that one also had some texturing issues. So I think the best way to solve this is making a new mesh for it, but unfortunately I can't do that either.

I made THIS mesh just to test the lighting issue you were referring to Bakie and I don't see any issue. Feel free to use it sammoyke.

oh wow im getting into blend files lmao ok is this is as simple as importing it into sims 4 studio in the mesh area where it says import or will i have to have blender to mess with this. im really not privy to any of that so if i have to start getting into it i guess nows the time cause id really love for this backdrop to work right for this project. i have found that in different neighborhoods the same picture/mesh is flattened out differently like if i go to the retail area the faces are smooth but in the main town its shaped liked buildings. does your mesh also change depending on the location?
ive still downloaded this mesh and I will try my best. Bakie I appreciate so much you taking the time to respond, i wouldnt even have gotten this far with this project without your help on tutorial videos so thank you so much!

Hi brujah, I'm not sure if you were that person that helped me back then, could be MisterS too maybe....I'm not quite sure. I don'have that mesh anymore as it didn't work for me back then. I will re-try one of my almost forgotten Backdrops to work with yours and see if it works. Thanks for sharing!

brujah, Just made a test backdrop and notices a weird black line at the top of my backdrop which i can't get rid of. Could this be because you didn't make a new texture file or should it be the same as the original? How it looks from close up:
