Hi. There might be a tutorial already about this but I'm not seeing it. When creating a new hair, how do I get the exact colors already in game?

Unless you use the actual texture you will never get an exact match. Depending on what you use photoshop gimp etc, there are ways to get a color match but from experience its not perfect a lot of times when you go into game.

To add to what MisterS said, you can Shift + Click on the hair you want to clone. This will pull all the original textures into your package. If these answers aren't enough to get your project finished, could you explain a bit more about what you're trying to do?

Thanks for the help. Sometimes someone will create a hair (for example) and they only will do one swatch. If I wanted to get the other colors I was just wondering if there was a way to get exact matches already in game.

There is no way to get exact matches, you can rely on your eyes only. Or you can try using Pooklet's actions for Photoshop, if you use this program. How it works: there is a base hair texture that you apply to UV map the way you want, after this you open photoshop actions and run one, and you get your swatch colored in different color. Base texture is always blond (without yellowish ting), so you can try running Pooklet's action on a blond swatch of original hair. You can get these actions here, along with instructions how to use them, everything is in archive. She also released similar thing for GIMP, but I am not sure how to use it. Anyway, here is the link.

Peacemaker also created a photoshop action set to create the default colors for hair in TS4 : MAXIS MATCH PHOTOSHOP ACTIONSLike Feyona said, you use it by applying the action on the dirty blonde color hair texture you extracted.
