Hello simmers! I'm a beginner with the whole modding scene and I've made my first hair mesh.(tons of trial and error lol)
Now the problem I'm having is that when I import my new hair color via s4s it only colors the original ea mesh. Also I made the hair mesh using a blender add on called the bevel tool so I don't know if that's the problem or if I'm not mapping correctly. Thanks for help in advance.

Are you converting the hair or is it your own mesh?

I first imported a normal ea hair into blender then I made my hair and joined the two together. I'm assuming that would be converting.

You can delete the EA one when you've made your own mesh.
Now,what I noticed is that it's using the EA hair texture (one of the afros,if I'm correct). You'll need to create a custom texture for the new hair.

Okay so would I need to remove the EA texture because right now mine is overlapping.

Hi gokusgirl, I am able to recolor this hair: In Blender, the entire hair is mapped directly over the hair texture (as it should be) and it is all taking the new color. If there are two meshes here removing one would be good because the poly count is quite high. Could you explain a bit more about what the problem is? An illustration showing the issue could be helpful.

It does color but I'm wanting it to color like this with the black streaks etc. Not like this. Also I do plan on reducing the poly count the second time I make this mesh lol sorry about that.

This is custom texture, you'll have to add the streaks

You have to edit the diffuse image. There is a tutorial HERE by laracroftfan1 that goes over basic hair retexturing that may help you get started.

Well I gave the tutorial a try but I still seem to be getting the same result with the mesh being one solid color.
