So I'm an idiot who decided to jump straight into modeling something without reading any of the sims 4 studio tutorials (in my defense, the whole program seemed so intuitive I felt I could play it by ear, which is usually my preferred method of things because I learn best by doing things.) I think I ended up deleting the original model and starting from scratch with a cylinder, and as a result, it has absolutely no connection with the rig, weight, etc (which I also don't know a lot about.) Before now I only really did reskins, simple things, this was my first complicated thing and my first model. (Started simple with a scarf.) I have no idea how to attach the scarf to the rig properly, and I've tried looking through the tutorials but so far nothing I've seen has helped me fix my mistake. Posted a snapshot of blender and what I get when I load it in sims 4 studio in case anyone might be able to offer to help with it. And thanks in advance if anyone can.

Can you post the blend and package?
"Scarf trailing behind sim like the ghost of my failure." That made my day.

indiaskapie 's links are very useful! thanks! I appreciate people that work their way as the OP does. It is better trial and error (with at least some knowledge about the program) than ask for help without trying. There's some other steps and tutorials that will help you finish your project. In order: weight transfer, vertex paint and uv_1. Please read this post that will link you to everything you need. (from step 3). Also you can check the tutorials section for more information.
