I'm trying to merge the vertices on an EA mesh I edited. I cut off the top to make a halter top into a bra/swimming suit top. I'm attempting to merge the vertices because I have a gap, but in s4studio it shows up as a crease. I'm not sure that this will look right in game. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated

When you merge vertices you need to merge 2 opposite vertices in 1, not 4 in one. You can't undo what you did (uv map already ruined), so you need to find a .blend that you saved after cutting the top (if you didn't re-save your last .blend on the top of that file).

I've been doing what you said but I still am experiencing weird things like back dips when I try to merge the front parts. I was wondering how this could be prevented Also, I noticed some of the vertices stretching out when I merge them. I think that's why the mesh is distorting

When you merge vertices, make sure that you select only 2 vertices and don't select accidentally anything on the back. Also, to merge 2 vertices you can use shortcut ALT+M and select "at center". I think it can be prevented only by paying attention at what vertices you select and saving your work on different stages, so in case of mistake you can go back and redo some part of work.
You need to redo merging from the stage when you had 2 unmerged parts and make sure that you select only 2 opposite vertices and merge them in center.

Oh, okay. I didn't realize I had to do the merging when it was unmerged. Luckily I saved a backup. I will try that. edit/ how do I do this so I can select the opposite vertices at the same time? Right now it's like this.. Sorry if it's a dumb question. I'm still new to Blender

You are in edge mode, to merge vertices you need to be in vertex mode. You can select it manually or via shortcut CTRL+Tab and select vertex mode. Disregard what mesh looks like in viewport. This preview only to show where to switch to different modes.

I changed to vertex mode, but I'm still not able to select the orange part.
I figured it out! Thanks so much for your help

You cannot snap the vertices together because you are trying to do it between 2 different objects.
You first need to merge both objects together. You will then be able to snap the vertices together. (select both objects and Ctrl+J in object mode to merge them together)
