Hello, I hope this makes sense. I have imported an obj into blender, but it's very far away from the center on the grid where it needs to be. I am still learning Blender navigation and haven't worked with it in months. Are there any shortcuts in order to move it to where it needs to be? It's a hair by the way. Thanks.

Press G to grab the item then use the X and Y keys to move it to the centre. In the side panel (you can open this but dragging the little cross in the top right hand corner); go down until you find the 3D cursor. Set all the numbers to 0 then in object mode look to your left and you will see an option named Set Origin. Click to 3D cursor. This will make sure your object is always central while you work on it. I check the object is in place by pressing 7 on the number pad which will give you a top down view.
