Hi, i was trying to make niche just like those in sims 2, and i've come up with some light problems. I place the niche in the left room, and with light 1, the object inside the niche is total dark, the light seems only work on the niche itself. ( there's some texture problem in this picture, but i've fixed it) Then i set light 2, which bring light to the object. I clone a window. i really don't know how to fix this, or i should give up on this :( and sorry for my poor english.

Most of the pictures are broken. Please use imgur.com to upload and use the direct link of the picture with the "insert image" tool. I don't really understand the "i use a window to make this". Did you clone a window or have you used a wall decoration? Please share the package and .blend file so someone can take a look at it.

I think the problem here is that you used a window for cloning. It would be much easier if you use something else instead. The wall kitchen hood: "noblesse" has glass. You can clone that, export it's mesh and check the cut numbers and groups so they match your mesh. Also, i suggest checking this tutorial to split the edges of your object.

You cant, you need to use the window to get the cutout, anything else you can get go through a wall but it wont leave a gap. Your light problem is the game not you, where you are putting your objects is technically inside the wall as that is what the game thinks it is still (I think anyway). Ive got half an idea for a work around gimmie bit
edit - that didn't work, I tried making a light that sits up in the hole, still didn't do anything

oh I understand now. I didn't know that it was supposed to be viewable from the other side, thought you just wanted to have a glass part for decoration.
