Could anyone point me to a direction of a decent tutorial discussing LODs and how to create low-poly LODs in Blender?

Could anyone point me to a direction of a decent tutorial discussing LODs and how to create low-poly LODs in Blender? If you know how to navigate your way around Blender, making a low-poly version of the mesh you have already constructed is fairly easy. Make sure you save often, that's just a good rule of thumb. So you've completed your first mesh and it loads perfectly into S4S AND The CAS, which is is a BIG step, since I usually forget one or two steps. To downgrade your mesh to a lower vertice/facet/poly count (however you want to call it), it's as simple as selecting it from a list. In your Properties Menu, click the WRENCH Icon to toggle the Modifiers Section. From the dropdown menu, select DECIMATE from the GENERATE column (Second from the left). This will ad the DECIMATE options to your model automatically, all you need to do is select the level of "decimation". In a tutorial by brujah, he suggests that, in the Ratio slider (looks like a big pill button), you start off with a setting of 0.80. This is a god start for your LOD1 mesh. For it too take effect, you NEED click the APPLY button for the decimation to actually render out into your mesh. After that, save your mesh as a different name (i.e. Mesh_LOD1.blend) and then start again, adding a NEW instance of Decimation to your LOD1 mesh, setting the ratio to 0.80, applying it, and then saving it out as your LOD2. Lather. Rinse. Repeat for LOD3.

Hi lala12, welcome to Studio forums. Sims 4 Studio requires the use of Blender 2.70 and there is a link on the Sims 4 Studio download page that will get you to the Blender 2.70 download.

I have a question that maybe one of you can help me with.....I'm trying to convert TS3 stuff to TS4 and I found a nice youtube tutorial on how to do it...unfortunately she has some kind of blender plugin that I just can't find.....and so I can't progress beyond this point in the process....in blender it's called a S4 CAS tool or something along those lines and for the life of me can't find this plugin anywhere. if you know of another way for me to convert tS3 to TS4 i'd gladly like to know.

Hi mayuchiha, welcome to Studio forums. There is a tutorial HERE that shows how to get a Sims 3 CAS item to Blender. If you have Sims 4 Studio you will see the S4 Studio CAS tool menu in Blender when you're working with Sims 4 meshes exported from Sims 4 .packages. If this isn't enough information post again
