Thank you, I have an insane velvet, silk, cotton, sequins, sparkles of any type obsession, I dare not post pics of the other recolours :D I have been informed that it's a inappropriate use of material...coughMTScough...As my real life headboard and side tables are velvet it didn't stop me (unfortunately?) I'd like to really alter that mesh or make a new one similar. I've playing in blender and have just got to grips with resizing and have watched the cut and bend vid (as I call it) loads of times in the hope I can make a real bespoke bed. if you want to see real inappropriate use of velvet involving beds go to www.theisleofcatarinasims.com/index.php?board=87.0

The only content that's inappropriate here is adult content...I love looking at the things creators come up with and now I'm intrigued as to what use of material could be considered "inappropriate".

Thank you so much for the great tutorial. I have two things. My texture isn't showing up correctly. I didn't really change the UV Map i just used the original TS2 map and I don't know if that matters. Ok I got help for my first issue.
Also when I decimate the HLOD it doesn't seem to save. When I import it, it's the same poly count every time.

I have no idea what an HLOD is. If you're decimating using Blender you need to apply the modifier before saving. If you're posting at Studio please use the terms that Studio uses for resources.

I'm sorry I meant High LOD or LOD 0 High, whichever of those I'm suppose to use. And that is exactly what I was doing wrong I just spaced that step over and over again. I'm having issues with the plants I'm trying to convert, I'm not sure how to describe the issue really. The leaves have strange shadowy parts in game. I've uploaded them here if you need to see what I'm talking about. I've looked at the DST image of other custom plants and the EA plant I cloned and can't see the difference or what it is I'm doing wrong that causes it to render the way it does in game.

No worries I've seen plants converted from previous Sim games that have odd shading in the game because the leaves of the original mesh have two sides and some of the sides were, for some reason, inverted so that the side that should have been on the top of the leaf was underneath the side that represents the bottom. Make sure this is not the issue you're having.

Hello. I am new to CC creation but I have been attempting to convert some of my favourite things from TS2 to TS4, by following this great tutorial. So far things have been going well, but when I add the conversion to the game the lighting looks off. Recently I converted the KLIPPAN Sofa from the IKEA Home Stuff pack (TS2) by creating a clone of Grande Wickish Pizzzazzz loveseat (TS4). In the game the sofa looks great apart from the lighting. If someone can advise me on what I am doing wrong and how I can correct the lighting I would be extremely grateful. I have included an image to show what I mean. Many thanks in advance.

simbrenda, if you have the Sims 2 .package you don't need Sims 2 installed to convert it. You will need SimPe in order to get the mesh and textures out of the .package.
scoobysnax, EA's sofa bump images have an alpha. If you do not make your bump with an alpha it will split the item down the middle and put an odd shadowing on half of it in the game.

Thank you so much for the tutorial! I really wanted to try this since I am off for Christmas, so I converted the Sims 2 Celebration Stuff chair and arch. :D Can you tell what is wrong with this chair tho??? :(... It looks fine in S4S: But in game: nightmares! D:

Your image is not the right size: Each side must be one of the following sizes: 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024. If you use sizes other than these the game becomes confused and will sometimes skew the map on the image as happened in this case. Other times it will put a question mark image on your item in place of the one that is confusing it.
