Alrighty, I will go and check that in the warehouse. I checked your tut on how to lower the poly count on it and I did, the only thing is, this object is so high poly that I could only lower it so much, I tried going near the poly count of the object that I cloned, which was 900 and some, but it pretty much disintegrated the object lol. Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it.

Hi, OM! Thank you so much for the tutorial. I'm practicing conversion on Around the Sim's amp (the one on the right), and I've hit a wall! I think I've managed to get the mesh okay, but my texture doesn't line up with it well? Below is an image to give you an idea. I'm thinking when I went to scale my mesh (step 32), I warped it too much. I've attached images of the mesh and the texture, to compare. What do I need to do? I'd appreciate any help you could give!

This tutorial is not made so that people who don't know how to mesh can convert the work of Sims 2 and Sims 3 creators without permission from those creators. The policy of Around the Sims says: "Please, respect my work: don't convert these for any other game (if you need something special, ask me)" I am not interested in helping people to convert items for "practice" only to see those items posted against the original creator's will. If you would like to see this particular item in Sims 4 I suggest you contact Sandy at Around the Sims. She is still active in Sims 4 and shouldn't be hard to get hold of. Rather than practicing conversion so you can take someone else's mesh why not try creating your own new meshes? I've posted a start to finish object tutorial and I'm more than happy to help new creators that run into questions.

Oh, you're absolutely right! I saw her TOU about recoloring and distributing the TS2 mesh, but missed the very obvious notice at the top of her page about not converting! Yikes! I apologize. I'll try my hand at another mesh and see if I run into a similar problem.

Again, rather than practicing conversion why not just start learning to make your own items. Most meshers don't want their items converted without permission. In the absence of a message from them that says something like, "yeah go ahead and convert my mesh for some other game" it isn't right to take someone's stuff.

I understand. I'll try my hand at creating my own meshes.

Hi again! I have a couple questions regarding step #32, I can't resize my mesh the way you did or resize them separately, once I merge the meshes using CTRL + J in the object mode, I can only move/resize the UV maps together, how can I select just one map at time? Also, when I press y + .5 my mesh gets bigger, like a lot bigger. Can you help me? I'm using blender vs 2.70

Once the meshes are joined onto the same map you need to select the parts you want to edit rather than being able to just click a. Clicking a selects all vertices. Click b instead and draw a box around the mesh part you're working on. Make sure the other parts are deselected first because the b(ox select) feature is additive...that is, it will add anything selected to vertices that are already selected rather than deselecting selected vertices while selecting new ones. If your mesh is getting bigger it sounds like you aren't clicking the . in front of the 5. If you just click 5 your map will be enlarged quite a bit. 0.5 will make it half the size.
