I was wondering if you could use a different 3D editor than Blender, because I can't for the life of me do anything on Blender and well, you've got to admit it is a bit overwhelming when you open the program. I had a CAD class in school and we used SketchUp and I was wondering if I could use that instead of Blender?

Blender is needed for the link between the mesh and Sims 4 Studio. The program is coded so it works with blender for the import/export of everything that is needed in CAS and Object meshes. It uses the cut number (or geom) system through a blender plugin.
I know first hand that sometimes Blender can be a bit tricky if you're just begining but you can use any other program you feel comfortable to make the meshes and then import it to Blender for the import and setting up. Have in mind that the tutorials that are here in the forum use Blender as a guide, this include, vertex painting, the weights and data transfer (for clothes). Although this might be possible to do with other programs we don't have tutorials to support it.

I have the same problem but if i try to import the mesh into sims 4 studio there is always an error. What is wrong with my model?

Hi skyper, the error message indicates that the mesh you are importing lacks a UV map. As a UV map is required for the item to function properly in the game, Studio will not accept meshes that lack a UV map.

Is there any alternative to using blender i can use I'm on windows and blender doesn't work for me for some reason it just turns my screen white for 1 second and goes away. I was wondering if there's another way to do my cc

I was wondering if there's another way to do my cc Files are exported in .blend format, so there is no alternative. If you have a low performance computer, install blender 2.76b. If you have a decent one, install 4.1. Make sure blender is installed either in program files or on the d drive, not anywhere else
