Sugar will still work if you haven't patched your game. Studio will always have backward compatibility so that packages made with older versions of the game will still open in the newest Studio. Aw that's awesome. Good thinkin', team. Thanks Drew. Sims is tricky about their versions. More tricky since you can't install older versions.

Will Sugar work without issues if I don't have the latest update? I have all except the one for Get Together and beyond.

I have not. Didn't know that was a thing. Movable ceiling?
I dunno, sounds like would produce the same issue of needing stairs, but I could be wrong. One thing I still haven't tried is saving a room made without a foundation and adding it to a house with a foundation. I suspect it would simply add its own foundation to conform to the lot's foundation. I'll tell ya this, my project is mighty complicated. Stairs everywhere. :p

So, that fixed towel (robe) mod of mine still isn't fixed. Just went to the Spa, and did some yoga, and...well: Does it have something to do with the fact I get the robe from the Spa, and not from a dresser or something? I made it a replacer, so I can't see what could be wrong. Same old robe as before. Do I need to tick "Robe" in Sub-Parts in S4S or something? Opening the package in S4S showed the right cap placement again. seems like the only thing that doesn't know the robe is made right is...the game. My game, at least. I think there's more to it than I originally thought. On further inspection, I noticed the towel looks right when I'm walking, but the second I'm involved in any animation other than a walk, like sitting or yoga, the towel will spawn a cap, cutting off the legs with the obnoxious white circle. Either I missed a LOD (don't think I did), or something else is adding a replacement cap for all animations besides walking, like there's another mysterious version of my towel made somewhere in the files or something. What do I do? I noticed the same thing with other clothing mods I made, and I didn't even realize the cap was spawning until I decided to test this on my other clothes. It seems all skirts and such will grow their own cap when a sim does anything but walk. There's gotta be something I can about this...

Something like it, yeah. I used that strategy, but it became quite a nightmare dealing with doors. For every new wall you add, it adds a foundation under it, so I had to put stairs on both side of every door, cuz you can't add a door to anything but a wall, and stairs must be on, or connected to a legit floor, so nothing under the foundation, which means to have a door, you must have a foundation-level floor connecting to the stairs. Became something of a mess. I wish there was a way to save a room's height. Then I could make rooms of all heights, and save them, and many cool things could be done. The delete floors thing accomplished the goal, but left me with stairs everywhere. Also would be impossible to properly add stairs from the lower level to the next floor. I wouldn't be able to add a landing to a dining room in a 2-story house, or an outside deck (for a pool or something) if I had a 2-story house either, unless I had stairs to the raised area, leading the actual stairs to the second story in the house. Would be goofy. And if I wanted to make only a certain part of the room lower, I couldn't, cuz there's no way to delete only a section of the floor, unless I make that part an enclosed room, delete the floor from that, then delete the walls from the temp room, and add stairs to the lower level. Tedious. For a game where everything is too easy, it sure is hard to accomplish certain basic things. And why do no sims visit my new lot? It seems like no one will visit a General lot. They just walk by. If I added a bunch of (unnecessary) dining tables and chairs, I could make it a nightclub or a bar, but I already have 2 nightclubs and a bar in Newcrest. Would be overkill to make another. If there were a Get Drunk mod kinda like TS3, this wouldn't be prob.

I spent hours trying to figure this out. How on Earth do I build a stage?? Was easy in the prequel. Seems impossible in 4. Can't make a proper club or concert hall without a stage, which makes musical instruments very "half-way there", and kinda boring, with no real goal to it. Making a second floor is too high, attempting to change the height of a platform changes the height of the entire floor, and half-walls can't have their own floor. The closest I can come is to build only a stage by adjusting the height and giving it stairs, but I doubt the "audience" would react properly to it then. Can Sims 4 Studio somehow make rooms separate from each other, so adjusting the height no longer changes everything on that level? Or something?? This is driving me nuts. I'm a musician. I've played on a stage. It would be lame if I had to play on the floor with everyone else. Stage or gtfo. Would also like to know how to build a deck the same way, for pools, but that would clip into the ground, so it certainly require some modding, but I'm more than willing to make such a mod. This sort of thing would make a bar look classy, and could be used to make a fancy dining area (like in Wayne's World), and...well, I need to make some stages! XO

Any advice on this?^ Can anyone tell me what's wrong? Seems like using the same process as shortening a skirt should apply. I didn't shorten it though. Could that have something to do with it? I just messed with the cap and nothing else.

Requested StuffEdit, as always: Actually, I deleted (X-By Faces) the cap, and Extrude Region-ed the Edge upwards, then Scaled the Edge, then Scaled again to make a pinpoint to Cap (ALT M-At Center), then Joined sh*t. Then, I tried to Unwrap UVs (UV>Unwrap), but no circle to show me where to put the stuff was there, so I improvised (like I said). [Insert Overly Happy Smiley Here]

Here's the Towel in Blender: Here's the Towel in Studio: Here's the Towel normally: I see the normal version in-game. Used a standalone first, but that didn't give the right results (obviously), so I tried an override. Same results. edit: Do you think the tags had something to do with it? I changed the tags so you could wear the towel anytime.

I used Joy 2.5.1.9 to make an override mesh replacer for the Bath Towel in the Spa Pack, to get rid of the super weird cap it has on the bottom (cuts off the legs), but the cap is still there in-game. The Blender pic looks right, and the Studio pic looks right. What could be wrong? I replaced all lods. Also, when I re-capped it in Blender, it had no destination (little circle from the OP pic) to put the UVs in. I just improvised and shrunk them to fit where I thought it might go (the usual place, or close to it). In this case, I don't really think the cap will matter, though (too high up to see it). Override means replace, right? Like, not standalone? My towel's still lame.

When I look at a sitting 2-person anim, the person on the right shows on the left, and the sim on the left appears on the right, each facing away from each other. Is this "normal"? Is that how it would show in-game? All I did was extract pre-made anims and view them both in Blender, after Appending one anim to another.
Also, the one on the right started normal, and "bounced" up to a higher position, and slowly descended as she performed her anim. Will that show the same way in-game as it does in blender as well? I was attempting to make slight adjustments to an already existing anim, but with so much other stuff going on, it's impossible to get this right. I'd like to make sitting anims with 2 sims from scratch, but I'd be hard pressed to get the positioning right with sims, and their butt-positions on the invisible couch.
Would be even harder if I included a child, because child sims show about 10% bigger in Blender than they do in-game, making it hard to judge where one might place her hand on her lap, or on a sim's shoulder, or anyplace specific like that. Just when you think your anim's perfect, it shows a child sim's arm/hand further from it's target in-game than it does in Blender, making something like a handshake or a high-5 very hard to make accurately.
Is there a way to lock someone's body position into place, so they appear in the same places in Blender as they do in-game? I tried to reposition the sim that was supposed to be on the right to their obvious designated spot, but I seemed to have to do that to every frame, quickly driving me to quit.

Just dragging a sim under the lines works? No serious side-effects? Does that not determine where the sim will appear in-game? I've always tried to keep the sim as close to the original "ground" as possible. Totally weird...

Dope sheet? That's new to me. Explains why I couldn't figure it out. Probably because I slide that part of the screen out to enlarge the sim render. What?? I tried countless times! It stays in an altered position for you? Move the bone and locrot, right? Something else too? All I did was move the boob, locrot, went to a different frame, went back to check, and boob was back to default. :-/
There was some other program I saw someone messing with the tongue. I think it was some kind of dance studio. Other than that, I've noticed it in-game, which is why I mentioned it. Makes me want to make a child anim with the kid sticking their tongue out at someone. :p
And why won't fingers obey me? Every anim I've made has ended up with the fingers staying still, and if it's a child that's being animated, the child in the program is a different size from the child in-game. I noticed when I made a basic clapping anim that ended with hands clasped in a "praying" sort of position (2-handed fist, kinda). The fingers stayed strait instead of wrapped (like "actual" praying), and the arms always go somewhere slightly different in-game than in-program. If I tried to rest a kid's hand on his/her leg, like they were chillin' on the couch or something, their hand will hover just above their leg. Kids in-game seem to be smaller than kids in S4S. Sometimes, the hands and arms won't move at all, but will just go to the basic position and stay there, looking stiff.
I have many ideas, but they all involve moving fingers. On the verge of giving up. :( (may be a good thing, since S4S has taken over my life)
