I recently found these custom alien/falien skin tones by cupidjuicecc, which I'd like to use in my game. However, they haven't been updated since 2017 by the original creator, and I can't find an updated version anywhere by anyone. I was hoping someone would be able to tell me what I can do to fix them myself to make them work with the current game version. Thanks in advance!

First of all, my sincerest apologies to all for failing to follow up on this for the longest time! I greatly appreciate all of you guys' assistance on this issue. You should be able to report them as slightly broken on the site. Buffsumm is retired but site staff might be able to fix it. If you want to fix it yourself, you can follow this tutorial by sybI actually did end up following your suggestion of reporting it on the site. Unfortunately though, while they did attempt to fix it following my report, it still wasn't perfect. I might have to tinker with it myself, after all. If it does come to that, thanks for the link to the tutorial! So there are these windows I'd been using from The Sims Resource. These and these. Anyway, they were updated sometime after the Batuu Patch for the new cutout system for windows and doors. However, the cutouts themselves still aren't entirely correct. The cutouts are a bit too big in places, on some edges slightly cutting into the wall beyond the window frame. I was wondering if anyone would be able (and willing) to have this fixed for me, or to guide me towards adjusting the cutouts myself in S4S. Note, I am not a CC creator, so I have no experience, but I guess I should be able to follow some basic instructions. It would mean a lot to me if I could somehow get these cutouts fixed, as these are my favorite CC windows for basic homes. It'd be a shame if I weren't able to use these anymore. Thanks a lot in advance! Also, if you download sims4studio and run a batch fix it should fix any issues you have with any windows! If you need further assistance tho, I can help! I actually did try the batch fix, but the windows still had some problems after it. Maybe I did something wrong. Thanks for the offer, I'll keep that in mind! You can download the fixed cutout windows by xoxdahlia in a SFS folder HEREThanks for the link! Will dl those and see how it goes. Thanks again to everyone for your input! I'll report back as soon as possible.

I've never done this, but I can't think of any reason why it would cause a problem. I recommend backing up all your files before doing the merge (copy them and paste them into a different folder before merging the originals - just make sure the folder you save the copies into is not your Sims 4/Mods folder). If you try it, please post back to let me know how it went. Alright, so I did a little experiment. I merged a bunch of CC from Peacemaker IC together, including already-merged versions of most of his furniture sets. I ended up with a merged package of roughly 2.5 GB in size. Every item contained within the packages that make up the merged package shows up in the game. Other than that, apart from the game taking longer to start up, there seem to be no other side-effects once loaded beyond the main menu into gameplay; loading screens between lots do not take longer than before the big merged package was added. So once in gameplay, everything is/runs as normal/before. I think the time the game takes to start up can be lessened yet by using multiple smaller merged packages instead of putting everything into a single huge merged package. The Sims 3 merged all of your installed sims3packs into files between 200-300 MB in size each. I think that's a good starting point for me to continue testing.

darkhorus - They won't drop "stuff" packs because there are enough people out there whom buy them. (Not me) Well of course they won't lol It's what can be expected from a business, which primary goal is to make money, after all. One can dream though, right? :D

I agree that EA seems to have been pretty tone deaf to what players want this time around. Not just in the packs offered, but in the scope of the material in each pack. Players seem tired of frequent tiny packs that add almost nothing to gameplay but a single new object or two with special interactions. They seem willing to sacrifice frequency for depth. As in, people want some game-changing expansion packs like we used to see in previous Sims games and they're will to wait longer between packs if the packs are actually interesting. Packs that offer new places to go, new things to do, new ways for Sims to interact with each other, and clothes/objects that go along with the theme of the new pack. Packs like World Adventures (Sims 3) and University (Sims 2). Sims 4 just isn't keeping up with the bar that was set by previous games. Like the Bowling pack, for example. This was supposed to provide a new place to go and a new thing (one thing but at least something new) to do. But when your Sims get there, they don't interact with each other in a new way. They interact with an object (the bowling lane), and that's about it. This latest pack (Toddlers) seems similar. It doesn't offer any new place to go. It just has a couple new objects for toddlers to interact with. That's a big difference from adding new ways for Sims to interact with each other in new places. Instead, we're still stuck at home surrounded by the same old Sim family just as we were before Toddlers came out (Sims 4 is sort of like a take on the 1950's crossed with Twilight Zone - your Sim can never escape the house/family). When I look at the pack, it just seems like EA is out of ideas and energy. I expect them to add comprehensive stuff that would be impossible for modders to do. Yet, in this pack, for example, the playing in a container full of balls things was already done by a modder, as were slides in several sizes, and a trampoline (all by Necrodog HERE). EA already lost me with the stupid Fitness Pack, and this lame offering isn't tempting me to go back to buying each pack (don't worrry - Studio will update for it anyway). That said, the pets do look super-cute to me, and I'm hoping EA can turn things around a bit. Of course, that won't happen if they follow the Pets pack with another extremely long series of small, lackluster, boring stuff packs that have one or two uninteresting new things. Well what can one expect from a 'stuff' pack, really. It's in the name; it adds stuff. New gameplay starts from $19.99. I'm kind of in the same camp as a lot of other fans, though. They could very well drop stuff packs entirely and include such things in bigger packs. Oh well.

the other part stuck in 50%. oh cmon guys i cant have that much broken ccs. i dont want to lose my cc. what am i gonna do? (i have 6gb ccs and now i have only 4gb. pls someone help. i really needed. how can i learn which ccs are not merged?) My advice would be to start out the process of elimination by item/object type. So, make multiple merged packages based on type; CAS, buy, build. This way you will at least know what type of cc it is that's causing problems. I think that's a good starting point in pinpointing the culprit. Of course, this method is assuming the problem item(s) is/are limited to just a single type. It's worth a try, though. Once you know the type of the bad cc, you can continue the elimination process with just that type of cc.

orangemittens I have another question. I wanted to create a thread for this, but I'm not quite sure where it would go, so I'll just ask here while I'm at it. Since Sims 4 Studio ties into and reads the game files (both in Program Files where the game is installed, and in Documents where your user and save files for the game are located), does that mean that the program has any kind of performance impact on the game? Like, if you have Studio running alongside the game e. if you have Studio open while running/playing the game, does it impact the performance of the game, increase loading times, or anything like that? Just asking to be sure.

Like breebee23, I'm also wondering if it's safe to merge multiple already-merged cc collections/packages into a single, bigger file.
As an example, say I have 3 merged package files - one of them containing a bunch of CAS cc merged into it, another one containing Build cc, and the last one containing Buy cc/furniture (all of the the cc in those merged packages also being from different creators and different sites, if that's important) - and I want to merge those 3 already-merged packages together also, into 1 even bigger merged file. It probably is possible, but is it safe? Would everything those files contain, every single piece of cc in them, still work and/or show up in the game? Would the fact that it's different types of objects (CAS/clohes, build, buy/furniture) make a difference, have an impact on whether it would work in-game?
I hope anyone knowledgeable in this subject could elaborate. That would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
