I have been working on these two issues for about 2 weeks at least. Can somebody please look at this and tell me what I'm doing wrong? I thought it was the shadow map so I recreated it several times. I saw the tutorial about removing doubles, that didn't fix it. I have a question about removing doubles, is that done before transferring weights and vertex painting or will it even make a difference if I do it at the beginning or end of the making process? I removed the doubles on my final file and nothing changed. I tried the removing shadows tutorial on here but I don't understand it. I have all my LOD's, the only thing I don't have is the specular, it's blank because I'm not sure how to make it yet. I used this as the nude: I used this as the example mesh: My problem is these shadows:

I would love to get right on that but the infants are not in sims4studio yet unless I need to update?

Feyona Said: This tutorial is about how to add specular to CAS items.
So is there a tutorial for adding a specular to an object? If yes can you point me in that direction?
Thanks

Hi, my item does not have an Rle 2 image. Has the name of the objects changed? Can someone tell me what is the name of the resource under warehouse tab that I should use?
I'm adding a specular to a painting
Thanks

This tutorial does not work. I have tried for hours, changing the color from different shades of green, opaque, I changed the level of transparency and nothing is working. Does this need to be updated again or what? I tried paint.net and photoshop

mauvemorn thanks for responding. I created a mesh using marvelous designer and I used a short dress(since my dress is short) from s4studio as the example but when I finish and import back into s4studio part of the leg at the bottom the shin is missing. Not sure how to fix it? Any help is much appreciated. I saw a few tutorials on youtube where they used a long dress for the example mesh but they obviously left out some steps because when I tried that my mesh ended up long.

There is another version of this tutorial that does not involve using blender, the person gave a custom file for creating new pictures with no frame (hope I'm not being confusing). I created some pictures using that tutorial with success and I want to repeat that method. Can anybody point me in the right direction? It's not the one by bakiegaming
Thanks

what I don't understand about this so far is when do I do these steps?
Do I do it after all the other work and after I weight paint?
Or before I do anything else and so in this case weight paint is still my last step before creating the bake?
Thanks

i've been trying forever now to create 'new mesh groups' as well. how do you 'cut' your mesh in to the correct cut numbers? whenever i make new meshes, i make one solid mesh, connecting in all the right places. i've never made one solid mesh (like a dress) into 4 different mesh groups. how do you cut your mesh properly? that's basically the only thing people never cover in tutorials, that and vertex paint? whatever that is. every mesh i've made has been easy (dress, shirts, pants) usually with the 0000 cut number, and i've never had problems. i've recently tried making a more involved dress and i can't get it right, whether it's not properly cut or weighted, i don't know and i can't find answers anywhere! Exactly what she said. Can somebody respond please. How do I cut my mesh

peridric evy1982 Hi I was stuck for soo long, I'm happy to say I was actually able to finally follow the tutorial after doing a blender course on udemy.com. Udemy is not expensive at all. There are free tutorials on youtube, but most are not that good or not updated. If you really don't have the money try this YouTuber/Graphic artist Blender tutorial on blender guru YouTube channel. I'm currently taking this exact course Blender Course on UdemyThey always have the clock at the top saying get it now before the price goes up, the price is always around the same. The course has examples with the answers at the end of the video, just take your time. Also a photoshop course will help a bunch. Keep me posted on your progress if you don't mind.

In step one how did you add a scalp area? This doesn't seem to be a beginner tutorial, correct me if I'm wrong? Do you know where I can find a beginner tutorial on 3ds Max and MilkShape?
Thanks

I keep getting spaces where a little light comes through on this top where some of the seams are. As you can see from the pictures the top gets holes on large sims and doesn't look right over some bottoms. Would this tutorial for uv_1 fix that. I never processed my uv_1 in this way. Thanks I hope these links work, I can't see the pictures only the links Top on large size simTop on large simOverlap

Thank you soo soo much for your help. I'm off work today so I'm getting back at this. I worked on it myself taking your first advice and I did finish but the pants were missing in the front, even though they looked fine on the avatar in Blender. Anyway, I will watch your video and update my results. Thanks again. Oh FYI I didn't have to unwrap the mesh but that issue went away.

Thanks for responding. I don't fully understand those instructions on how to unwrap(the picture above)
What does this mean "Click on the vertex in the middle of created "cap", then Select - Select More/Less - More)"
I'm more of a visual learner. Is there a video version of these instructions? I will search on my own but just in case (I feel I will have a hard time finding them) I'm still asking for help.
Thanks anyway
