Hello! I have a problem with weird shadows around objects and by objects I mean a lot of cc objects. Not everything has these bugged shadows, but a good amount has and it's pretty ugly looking. I'm not sure what's causing it. I didn't change my graphic settings and it only occurred after the Pets patch. :< Also ... some objects are see-through and look very weird somehow too. However if an object is transparent, it normally doesn't have the shadow bug as well, as I can tell so far. Examples: YES!! ME TOO!!! I actually posted a similar post on this thread about it!!!

I've got good news guys! I've found a way to fix the hairstyles that are appearing darker after the Pets patch (at least it has worked on all my hairstyles that had this issue). There were to kind of problems:
- Most of the hairstyles that had this problem didn't have specular and normal map. In this case adding a plain white specular and a plain grey normal has fixed them. This was the case with some of Newsea, Aveira and other creators.
- There were 2 hairstyles by Butterflysims that came with specular and normal but still had the issue. What I've done in this case is making the specular and normal blank and saving the packcage, then I've gone into the game (I'm not sure if this step is necessary), closed it and then added a new specular and normal.
I hope this helps! Ooh! I will have to try this!! I'll let you know how it goes, because I have a lot of hairs that broke like this!!

This sounds really hopeful -- I too will give it a try and see what results I get. I've got a lot of alpha hair CC, and about half of it seems to be affected. Thanks for the tip -- here's hoping! Edit:Great news -- thank you very much Kaizoku-Gal -- your fix seems to have done the trick! :-) Actually, as far as I can tell, the Normal Map is the core issue. So far, I have just fixed the Normals and not even done a thing with the Speculars, and it seems to restore the hair to the proper look and color. The hairs that I have seen which have this issue have no Normal Map (at least technically). It seems that there are a lot of hair packages out there which have a DST Normal Map file in the package, but it simply isn't 'hooked up.' The Group/Instance/Type info is not entered in the CAS Part data. So that DST file is never being referenced. Others have no Normal Map of any sort -- the end result in-game is the same. (I'm thinking perhaps there was a creator tool at some point which 'forgot' to hook these up -- either that or a number of creators were all following the same flawed work flow.) The 'Use Blank' option of S4S doesn't help in this regard. It seems the game now needs a mid-grey Normal Map to render hairs as we're used to. Adding in a RGB 128-128-128 map with 50% transparency seems to work nicely. (Arrived at that due to Kaizoku Gal's post and by examining the DST files in working hair packages.) I'm kind of hoping that this can be confirmed and perhaps it could form the basis for a batch fix. Adding Normals by hand is do-able, but that's a lot of files to fix, for some of us.

Is there any new batch coming for all the other CC and not just beds and sofa's. Wouldnt that be better since there are multiple reports of different cc that is broken and it seems everyone has other problems. For me a lot of CC has wrong textures, lights dont work, fireplaces cant be used, my CC christmas tree has no lights on anymore (was tested by a mod and worked fine in his game, so must be effected by all the broken content in my game after C&D).
For others there are still complaints about toilets and counters.
It is impossible to go and report it to all the creators to update their CC. I think i would be 2 year further with that and i cant update m own CC as well, would be a month job for me. Hope we can get a batch that fixes all in one.

Hi fursims, yes, there are more batch-fixes on the way. In the next version of Studio there will be a batch fix for skirts/dresses that become borkt on large Sims, park benches (2 and 3 seaters), and 6-seat dining tables. If you are aware of other categories of items that require a batch fix, please send an example or two of those categories so the problem can be investigated. Without an example, it is very difficult to tell what the problem is, and without that knowledge, a batch-fix cannot be made. Hi jenlamonica1, the next version of Studio will have a batch-fix for some 2 and 3 seat comfort items that are currently not being addressed by the batch-fix. This may solve the problem with the sofas you have that are currently resisting being fixed. If that batch fix (which is not out yet, but will be soon) doesn't fix all your sofas, an example or two of a sofa that still resists fixing would be helpful. Hi welreign, my Sims have always had a tendency to skip the kitchen sink and wash dishes in the bathroom. I believe someone has made a mod that causes bathroom sinks to be less attractive to Sims who want to wash their dishes. I am not certain that the issue you're describing is new to this patch. Hi simmiller, I'm glad you have things working now.

hello, i'm back to report 2 issues i've found after the newest patch so, i'm not sure if anybody else is experiencing this, but a large majority of my wall-stickers seem to be glitchy around all the outlines, and the glitches get even bigger upon zooming out. here's some screenshots of some of the wall-stickers in my house, and you can see what i mean: Also, in my Sim's basement, where (intentionally) is the most brightest floor in the house, for some odd reason, there's these 3 random white lines that are fixed there on the walls. Dont know what could be causing this, but it was never there before. Hopefully I'm not the only one having these problems!

Hi oiwa, I recommend removing all custom content from your game and going back to see if the issue persists even when you have no CC/Mods installed. If it does, this is a problem on EA's side and it should be reported to them. If the problem goes away when you remove all CC/Mods, you can try doing the 50/50 method to hunt down the content that is causing the issue.
@wj, which EA items are causing the problem? Do you know if this is happening in everyone's game or if (maybe) it's a new graphics card/game settings problem introduced by the patch?

Would anyone mind telling me what issues are happening with counters? I've been trying to make a recolored version of a BG counter with slots (for some reason the aom add slots to BG counters has never worked on recolors, at least for me), and 8/10 of the models will place correctly, with their added slots, but two of them disappear upon placement. I'm wondering if this is a patch issue or something else, so I can attempt fixing it if I can.

Thanks for the latest edition of Wishes. I think the biggest thing that needs fixing is venue lots not recognizing CC toilets in the requirement count. Will that be addressed in the next edition of S4S?

Installed the new version 3.1.0.5 But it only fixed 1 CC item with the new batches. Yesterday when I opened my game, it crashed and Im sure its cause most CC is not compatible with the newest update. I do not have any problems with my sofa's anymore, the older batches worked for me on that. I still find problems with these: - CC fireplaces that sims cant interact with - Christmas tree where lights on/off option wont work (it must be caused by other broken CC, but need to do some research which one those are) - Lights that dont work - Weird black outlining on CC with transparency like plants. The edges do not seem smooth anymore. - Objects with edited transparency (So when it wasnt originally transparant already) are not transparent anymore. For example my CC fireplace. - CC objects like study desks, lights, even a EA single desk have weird texture on them. Recolours are then also all the same. Hope these examples helped to create a suitable batch Thanks for all the hard work again!!

hello guys! after the latest update, lot of ppl are experiencing problems with shadows showing through meshes... solution for this problem has been found ( you can see it HERE ) BUT those steps have to be repeated for every single object separately. My question is can you guys make this as a batch fix?
