This is the problem. I kept the default.ini file in a different folder because my game won't run. It says that there's a newer version of the game. The updated game won't run, neither the base one so I read that deleting the default.ini will get it to work and this is what happened. Now, it's either the game or the S4Studio. Help?

Wouldn't it just be easier to have a config file for all of the settings where you could just manually edit the game path.

Hey, I'm new to this and it's also asking me for the game file path. I've tried everything, really, but it keeps telling me an error has occurred and that I need to report it. Does anyone know the solution to this?

Hey so I'm on a mac, using origin to run my game, i get the gamepath error, but all the options I have are: application, users, library, systems. I've looked everywhere under every folder and the closest I've come is Documents>EA>Sims 4 but that is a folder full of mods, music, blah blah not what the thing wants apparently. I'M LOST. help?

Hi taraab, Welcome to the Studio forums You need to tell Sims 4 Studio where your game is installed. For most people that is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4 You shouldn't need to move any files anywhere, but you need to tell Sims 4 Studio where you have your game installed. I have this same problem but i have a mac, could anyone help me out

For Mac Users:
For an hour and a half, I went through this thread trying every one of the different suggestions until I decided to mess a little bit more with this before I finally gave up. I went to Finder>Documents and searched at the top right corner "Electronic Arts". The first things that came up were many blue folders of The Sims 4 that I had been clicking. After scrolling through most of them, I found an actual Sims 4 application (that wasn't in my Applications folder) with the Isms 4 logo on it. I click once and open it in S4S, and it worked!!! I hope this helps others, I'm just so happy I get to create some CC again!
Happy New Year! :D

tabimontaner hi tabi! Thanks for sharing your insight. I personally don't own a MAC so it's very difficult to understand how other users should search for the patch that isn't picked up by default by the program. Hope you had a lovely new year!
