Hi all, so I've recently taken another go at converting alpha hair into the Sims 4 from XPS models, but I keep running into the same problem with transparency. Blender has three different Blend Modes, Alpha Blend, Alpha Hashed and Alpha Clip. I found that Alpha Hashed gives the results of transparency I am looking for in the 3D viewport. The head is not visible underneath the hair. I did manage to make some Alpha hair in the game, but it has the exact same look to it as Alpha Blend Hair. I have tried following this tutorial sims4studio.com/thread/3857/most-transparency-issues-alpha-glass?page=2 but it doesn't cover the most recent Blender update and is a little confusing to follow for people who are relatively new to converting alpha hair, I have seen people making alpha hair without using any other programs and only using Blender so it must be possible to convert alpha hair with no 3ds max or milkshape used in the process, but there are not any in depth tutorials for it. My question is, how do I go about achieving the same results as what the Alpha Hashed hair looks like in Blender 2.9? Here's an image to show what I mean: drive.google.com/file/d/1_MlodJE3Yt6XWW6RvHQA9l8WVzfY6o5l/viewI made a thread about this a while ago but still couldn't figure out how to do this. Also, I did see another recent thread asking this in passing, but I couldn't find any in depth explanation on how to do this only using Blender. Thanks!

Hi. In Blender, in newer or older versions, one must jump through thousands of hoops to get it to show textures with transparency at all, much less that issue that is visible in 3ds max and Milkshape by default. For that reason no one uses Blender as a main tool for hair adapting and no one ( at least on this forum) knows the solution. All previous thread - and similar questions have been asked many times before - get the same type of responses, which is "try the video in that thread, if it won't work, try just blindly layering it ( also shown in the thread ), if not, reach out to people on Blender forums for we do not have their competence on this subject". Since you're working in 2.9, look up the video for that or new version instead of the linked one. If it won't work, then ask people on Blender forums, and if you succeed, please share the solution with us

Hello! Thanks for your response, I appreciate it. I'll try layering the hair again, and if the transparency doesn't work, I'll see if I can contact the Blender forums to find a solution.
