Hi. You cloned an item that is made of 3 meshgroups but imported a blend that is made of one. What you import should always be made of the same number of meshgroups as what you clone But there are more issues: 1). Your uvs were generated in the square space. When you applied a rectangular texture, the uvs became stretched vertically. Then you rotated them instead of bringing them back to their original size. 2). All parts of the body covered by clothing should be deleted. The more of it you delete, the more space you get to put your garment's uvs. More space = bigger uvs = better texture quality; 3). Making the garment from many smaller patterns in a way that a real dress would be made will make it easier to utilize as much of the available uv space as possible, however, i suggest you to avoid that bottom right corner because people put everything there from accessories to eyelashes and you end up with cas full of items that cannot be used together; 4). The garment needs inner geometry only in places where the holes are visible. Otherwise you just unnecessary increase the polycount which is already way above acceptable. You should not go past 10-15k unless absolutely necessary; 5). Transfer weights and uvs from items that are of the same length as yours. You transferred from something that is much shorter and the dress is now partly rigged and uv unwrapped as legs; 6). Dresses should be vertex painted with 2 colors; 7). Your garment is affected by skirt bones as it should be, so an item you clone to import the blend must be affected by them as well. Introducing new bones can lead to distortions. Anyway, you should most certainly watch a different tutorial because that one was not informative enough. Look for the ones where the author does not tell you to download Blender 2.7. Those tutorials are identical in their mistakes and the lack of information. Then you should do a tank top or something very simple to wrap your head around the process. Then you will be able to study maxis dresses to get an idea of what yours should look like

Thank you so much for the response. Since there are quite a lot of problems with this dress, I should probably hold off from trying to make cc dresses until I have a better grasp of things!! I'll bookmark this for future use so that I don't make the same mistakes. Thank you very much again!
