since I have to work with blender 2.7 due to the fact that sims 4 studio does not support older versions, I have a question can i select two bones of different models at the same time? i want to create pose or animation with two models, for example for example, in blender 3.0 (and earlier versions), I can select bones of different models by holding down the shift key and work with them at the same time for example this screenshot. I used the shift to select the neck bone in both models at the same time, and I can rotate both heads at the same time screenshot (dunno how to attach it to this post) - ibb.co/tBLTxd4can i somehow do that in blender 2.7?

Hi. I googled the subjects and it seems that the ability to edit multiple rigs at the same time was added in newer versions. You can use newer versions with s4s so long you use the supported version as a bridge. How to do this is explained in the answer 4

How to do this is explained in the answer 4thx for the answer. so, based on this guide, i changed path to .exe file in sims 4 studio preferences and immediately got a problem. The S4Studio CAS Tools plugin did not appear in blender. either plugin dont appear in 2.70a version. im using default, not a portable, blender. path to .exe - ibb.co/ZgTCCWX sims4studio.com/thread/5899/s4studio-cas-tools - I found this topic on a forum where it says how to install the plugin manually from file. but during installation I got this error too - ibb.co/pfP517G

The problem is most likely related to the blender installation folder location. Move it to the d drive and try again

**Edited because my information was wrong** You also don't have to use Blender 2.70. I use 2.78 with no problems. I tried 2.79 and 2.79b and both were buggy for me though they may not be for you. 2.76b works well for most people. And yes, you may have to install the plugin manually via user preferences. Only if something goes crazy wrong. The link you posted says where to find the file so you can install it Blender; the file should end up in your AppData Blender folder so double-check to see if it's there. You'll likely see several folders of different Blender versions. Make sure the io_sims_py file is in the same folder as the Blender you are using. (e.g. you're using 2.7a so the io_sims_py file should be in the 2.7a folder in AppData). If you don't see your AppData folder (C:\users\your name\appdata) make sure you don't have hidden items unchecked. In my opinion, it would be better to install a version of Blender 2.70-2.79 and use portable versions 2.8 and above. If you don't have a D drive you can try taking ownership of your C drive. Nope. Not a good idea. Ignore that advice. If you're the primary user I don't think taking ownership is necessary, regardless. If your game is installed in Program Files (x86) and you're having permissions issues you can try making a new folder on your C drive and installing Origin and all of its games there. Program Files (x86) does sometimes block 3rd party applications from messing with its (Program Files (x86)) contents and Studio would be considered a 3rd party application. Studio needs access to your game as it obtains meshes and textures, etc, from the game's files. And then there's the usual advice of allowing antivirus exceptions for Studio, Blender, and the game.

Fwecka (Lolabellesims) please do not recommend 2.77-2.79, the plugin for them does not work for all people regardless of the installation process. Always recommend 2.76b. There is no need to install the plugin manually because, if s4s is not allowed to put it in the location, you will not be allowed to put it either. This is what happens with in the third picture, blender is giving an error. The blender is on the c drive while you can see that the game is on the d drive, there is no need to overcomplicate things and please do not recommend to take ownership of the whole c drive, this is like inviting trouble on your computer. S4s will do nothing harmful but whatever will be installed after might

thank you for advice. I'll try to do as you said a little bit later. anyway, I tried using 2.76b as a bridge for my animations created in a newer version of blender. I created the animation in version 2.93, then just moved it to version 2.76b via the Append function, after which I saved and imported it into the game. At first glance, I don't see any problems. p.s. sad that the projects created in the newest version of blender (3.0) cannot be transferred to the old versions of the program in this way (using Append).

but for now i have one more question. maybe you can answer me, so i will no create another one thread. when im opening sims rig in 2.76b - it has texture. i can see, for example eyes, and work with them - ibb.co/thC9JTTbut when im opening this one rig in 2.93 ver - model has no texture, just only "solid" variant - ibb.co/wZqpWt7even if I switch viewport shading to "material" texture still dont appear, model just become white - ibb.co/K6NhfDfcan i somehow add model's texture to 2.93 ver of blender? it really important to me to work with newer versions because of their functions, but without texture i cant work with model's face.

Never actually payed attention to it, so I don’t know what’s the default material is like in 2.8+ (can’t check right now), but try changing the shading to texture first and if that won’t work, just create a new material and add the texture there To add an image, you need to copy a direct link to it, so i.ibb.co/hB0CGFr/1.png , not ibb.co/c6qxWhR . Then you click on the painting icon, paste the link, click on Insert image

I stand corrected. 2) I also did not notice the game was installed on the D drive. My bad, sorry. 3) It appears you are correct about taking ownership of the C drive. Sigh. My mistake again. I should just delete that entire post!!! Ugh. I edited it, instead.
