Thanks, Menaceman! Good to know, since those polys are killers. Unfortunately, I find that if I go crazy with the Decimator (which I love), and then add the Remove Doubles, the objects lose a lot of their detail and become shiny. I guess I need to learn a good stopping point. Haha.
As for the panels, I think they were right at the face edges, yes. I tried the Edge Split and it DID help to flatten them, but they still looked clunky overall, so I deleted/scratched that project.

You are so kind to respond, Math; thank you! And yes, a well placed piece of clutter here and there make a Sim's house 'homey'.

Hi guys! I have a little object to share if anyone wants it. It is a dress for your bed. it is a little high poly @ 1000 polys, but I think it is pretty cute and it comes with 6 or 7 swatches. DressOnBed

This is most likely the direction of the normals on the inside planes. You can fix that by flipping them (#16 HERE). Hi Brujah! Thank you, but I have tried recalculating and flipping, and when I flip, the back disappears on these in particular. I may just take the inside of another bootie I made and stick it in there.

Just to add any more info you may need for future projects. As MisterS has said, "remove doubles" and "edge split" are pretty much opposites. I would normally use "remove doubles" to give a mesh a smoother look. "Edge split" is usually for when you want to make sure a particular part of your mesh has nice crisp edges to it, say on the corners of a box for example. So on your table, if you remove doubles on the entire table top then the edges will look curved like this ). If you then selected the edges of the table top along the top and bottom edges and then used edge split it would look more like this ]Thank you MrS and MenaceMan! SO good to know all this! I was using Remove Doubles up until now because I thought it helped reduce Poly count and overall size. Lol. In fact, I am going to pull a fast one and ask a maybe-related question . Do you think Edge Split will help with this project? I have some Smart Home panels I am working on, and as you can see, the screen or front part, looks flat in both Blender and S4S but once in game, they look awful: Okay, so maybe they don't look that awful in the picture, but they look pretty bad in game. They are all ... "lumpy". ---------------------------------- I just tried Edge Split on them and will now test in game. I am here all day today just probably going to be meshing around, so if you have any pointers, I am all ears and more than willing to listen. Thank you all SO MUCH.

Ohhh - got it! Good to know, MrS. Thanks! I now know Edge Split exists, and somewhat how to use it. It's a good day when one can say that. Hehe.

What I meant from doing something without problems is that I wish I wasn't so stupid and could do a project just once without having to research or find out what I am doing wrong. Kym, you are far from stupid. Anyone who even attempts at having a go at meshing and modding has no relation with the word. And despite what people may think, it is HARD to learn it ... but (and I'm not just saying this) the best thing you can do sometimes is make mistakes, because that teaches you what not to do, and sometimes even shows you a new way to do something else. Once corrected, each little thing that didn't go right is moved to the WIN column. I know it doesn't feel like that right now as I am right with you in that I know that frustrated and ready to give up feeling well, but keep with it - you are already farther along with what you did with the project than many could have gotten to. In any case, sorry I don't have a solution to your problem as I am a noob and have not yet tried my hand at clothing or hair, but just wanted to chime in with a chin up!

Yeay! You guys ROCK! I love that everyone is so helpful and that truly allows for a person to feel they can ask anything and interact and together, SOLVE (well, mostly together as it is YOU guys that have the know-how) . Many, many thanks MenaceMan! I swapped the table top out, but I would not have looked twice at the mesh had it not been for you. I was swapping out all the TEXTURES, and not the mesh without putting two and two together, that ALL the tables had the lines. Duh. Now, no more lines!

Remove Doubles removed 0 Vertices and I used the Edge Split with just the default settings since I don't understand how to adjust them properly and it DID make the edges look smoother, thank you!
The table lines are still there however, which I now see clearly in .blend and had not noticed when making the table. I may try to find another glass top to swap it out with, and will see if the issue remains.

Hi Menaceman! Thank you for the response. And yes, I am happy to report that the little leg shadows are gone, inside and outside. The swatch has a dark spot which I need to get rid of, and the glass legs are not as 'glassy' as I'd like, but all in all, almost done! As for the glass table tops, as much as I love those remove doubles and decimate buttons , I don't think I used the remove doubles on the glass tops! Thank you. I will try that now. I have never used the Split Edges, and will try that now as well.

No worries at all. On the contrary, many thanks for all the suggestions and help. I finally got around to half making them again and they look pretty good. I have an appointment tomorrow so I am heading to bed and will finish adding the swatches sometime later. One thing I did notice was that on the first couple of vases (the fails ) I could see what the vase looked like in the S4S window, but now I only see it as dark gray, dark blue, dark green depending on the swatches I add and I have to open the game up to see what they will look like in there. Not quite sure why that is, but I can live with it.

Hi Inabadromance! I don't know why, but I never see new responses from you on this thread. >.< Sorry I missed this one too. The tuning tutorial was super interesting and I think I applied it step-by-step, but nada - still have a little flame. After tuning and trying in-game, I went back to my new object tuning line, and this is what I see: I keep wanting to delete the entire project and I have like twenty .blend files for it as well as four or five different .packages, but each time I am about to click DELETE, I think it can be saved. Any thoughts?

Yeay! It worked. They are underneath, and I would have never thought of it without your help! I am so happy. I am going for this overall look, and I am working on the lamp now. I am very grateful for all your help. To feed another person's mind is truly a great, great thing. Thank you.

MrS! I got it! I just scaled them to be very, very tiny, and I put them under the table. I will try it in game now and will let you know.
