I actually have nothing for the Sims 4, except the original game. I have been working on this diligently. I looked at a lot of similar chairs trying to figure out how to make the back. What do you think? And is there a particular color of wood you would like? And I can make a few different colors of leather too.

So I started on the chair, so far I have the general shape of it, but still have a little more modeling to do. I want to test all of that before I start mapping and making it pretty.

Oh! Ok. Funny thing is we had a wheelchair somewhat like it that Jerome made for Sims 1 years ago, but I don't think I have the max file anymore...booo. I recall that we had to use the child animations for him, because of the height differences. Making a chair probably wouldn't be too difficult though. I was thinking about having a mobile character in a wheelchair, but as I said, we had to make him use child animations and behaviors because of height and since sims now age up, that probably wouldn't work well.

I could make that wheelchair if you have someone willing to do the rest of the leg work! I don't do body mods.

Has anyone tested if there is a max number of swatches Allowed? I have a lot of sims 2 objects that used a plethora of materials, as I had set up repository files for wood, fabric, leather, etc and just used my libraries. Now I feel like I am so limited.

I can understand that...I got so burned out that I couldn't bring myself to make anything for Sims 3. I didn't even want to look at furniture. I was thinking about just buying a bunch of big pillows and throwing them around my house and getting rid of my sofas :D The model I am having issues with is basically a bowl of balls... In Sims 2, I used a transmap to make the balls disappear, so you could just display the bowl, but this one just doesn't play nicely. There are floating pieces of poo in the bowl... The Map looks fine in blender. I may just replace them with some more balls and release the bowl as a separate object...probably much easier!

Thanks! I have gotten down the importing now. Working on adding transparency to a map, which I have managed to some degree, but I cloned the tissue box and it seems to have some sort of uvmap offset, so I'm trying to figure out why it's messing up my map or if it just won't add transparency. Following the tutorial, it didn't have an Alpha Blend, but it had an AlphaMaskThreshold, which did seem to add transparency to, but the map just seemed to have parts that looked like they weren't mapped right...they work fine in Max and Blender...bah. Fun with stuff...

Well, I have been working on a few "redo" object from my Sims 2 stuff, and I have managed to get a few pieces in the game... I have felt the need to redo some meshes, but having some issue with smoothing groups on some particular objects. Even though they are separated, this seems to be smoothing everything together...not happy with that.

That would be awesome. OBJ format would probably be ideal, since most programs export it. I don't mind using blender to convert stuff over, just don't want to have to do too much in it!

Take him up on the offer! It's a lot to learn, I have been using it for years and still find out new things. After a while, it's actually much easier to use. I will still have to use Blender to convert files over, but editing UV Maps and building objects is easier is Max. I am still trying to get use to Blenders interface, but I found Max 11, so I am installing it right now.

Yeah. I think the original topic was "Hi" Not much you can do with that. You guys crack me up...
I have been using 3D Studio Max since 2002, so I don't have issues with that. And the company I have been working for paid my subscription, that's why I can't afford it. Plus I go in vacation soon, so it would be a waste to renew. Yeah, it's an annual subscription, you can pay monthly.
I've been making art for some Indie games for the last few years, mostly stuff I don't particularly like making. haha

I am trying to get 3D Studio Max on this machine, I have been using that for years, but my subscription ran out, so I'm digging out my old Max 10 CD. I did find a tutorial using the decimate. The reduction I got wasn't very substantial and I could probably just make a lower poly version myself much quicker and in a tool that doesn't behave weirdly. I hate blender. I do want to add some more designs to the object, and I am guessing there is a tutorial on that, so I will probably go figure that out now. I will be a pro in a week...
