I know how to recolor, but I'll go back and look at more of the basic stuff. I'm sure it won't hurt.

Yes, you need to create your own textures. Only the mesh gets imported to the package upon import. You have to bear in mind that the project you're working with is an intermediate/advanced creation. You are missing many basic steps that are learnt through creating basic content and recolors. I wouldn't recommend jumping from no knowleadge to advanced clothing creation all at once. I highly suggest you checking all the related tutorials that have already been written on the CAS section. I will do that. Thanks.

Are you importing the texture in to the Sims 4 Studio? The texture will not be imported along with the .blend file when you import the mesh. In Studio, you need to go to texture tab and choose diffuse. There you need to import your texture. I'm not sure if you're doing that? Can you post the .blend and .package updated so we can look at it . I got frustrated and deleted my work. I started over from scratch so when I get it finished I'll upload my files. I don't quite understand what you mean by importing a texture from sims4studio.. Do you mean I need to actually draw one in photoshop first and then import *that* into sims4studio?

I just can't even.. I know I'm putting everything in the right place but there's no color to my mesh, it just shows the body template.

S4S's preview is letting you know that your mesh's uv is overlapping the body's bottom part. As shown from item 10 in the tutorial you're following, the UV should only cover the top area, and don't go below. Each CAS item has an specific space on the texture. You can see exactly the problem on your first video around 6:10, where you're mapping the shirt where the underwear is at. If you don't want to close the bottom part of the shirt, and have the body mesh with it then you'll have to move the UV elsewhere. And it will overlap something else instead. So be ware of that and decide what works better for you. You can't see it in blender, since you have two different materials set for your merged group. You can head over to the "materials" tab and delete one by clicking on it, and pressing the "-" button. Oooooh! I think I understand now. I'm going to re-map and I'll update you!

i'm seeing your videos and i'm not really sure where is it that you're stucked.. since all i'm seeing is correct. So i don't get when the issue is that you're having. On the first one, you joined the two groups correctly. On the second one, you're missing the bones. You have to do the weight transfer, and that is explained on the first link i shared you. I would choose a tutorial and stick to it instead of looking at different ones that might lead to confusion. Thanks for your help. I followed (and stuck with) this tutorial-- www.sims4studio.com/thread/7044/finish-marvelous-designer-clothing-tutorialThis was the end result: Pretty discouraged right now.

Okay, I made a video of me trying to UV map my mesh so someone could tell me where I'm going wrong. I stopped at the step that I'm stuck on. Thanks!!

what do you mean by having trouble? do you not know how to do the uv period or it's just not working? and if it's just not working, can you go into more detail? i'd love to help Thank you so much I really appreciate it! I posted a picture of my "finished" textured mesh and it was a mess. I think I'm messing up when it comes to combining the EA mesh and my own... and changing my UV map and renaming it to uv_0 etc, etc. I've been working on this for a couple weeks and it sucks to be completely stuck like this!

There is another comprehensive tutorial here. Thank you! I have been looking at dozens of tutorials but I haven't seen this one, so I'll check it out.

Thanks! I've been working with this guide for a few days and I think I'm messing up when it comes to joining the EA and my mesh.. that part confuses me and as you can see from the image I posted my shirt comes out all wrong. Not to mention I don't fully understand weight mapping/bones etc. I do love creating CC for the sims though so I want to keep learning! I'm sure I'll get it with enough practice.

I understand the basics of Blender, and I have attempted to UV map my shirts but they never turn out right. This is what happened when I UV mapped a shirt--

I have Blender, Marvelous Designer, and Photoshop. I've learned my way around all of the programs and I've even created my own mesh clothing in Marvelous Designer and imported my .obj files into Blender. I am having trouble UV mapping and texturing my meshes, however. Is there anyone here willing to teach me? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

My accessory didn't save as a package file, it's .blend. I can't open it in S4S! What do I do?
