Loose Strap Dress
- Full Body Outfit
- F Y/A - Elder
- 1 Color (Black)
- Original Mesh by me, recolors are allowed.
- HUGE HUGE THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE: nisukiye (TUMBLR), spectacledchic-sims4 (TUMBLR), @citrontart (TUMBLR), inabadromance (TS4 Studio Forum), Feyona (TS4 Studio Forum), Zelrish (TS4 Studio Forum) for their patience and kindness for helping me create this.
- Extra note: Poses that extend the sim’s left arm can distort the strap of the dress. (eg; if the left arm is high in the air the dress will distort)

Zelrish oh my god! That's great Could you send the .blend file? I tried to do the color picker and then choose the color of the skin and then paint all, but it just didnt look like that at all :c

Just updating the progress on this, I opened up the blender file and checked the vertex and it looks fine (just as in the picture). I am going in game right now to see if its changed at all

I had the same issue in the past but could unfortunately not fix it at the time. UV_1 was made and good and vertex paint as well but the sliders were still not available in game. I recently faced this problem and I had forgotten the vertex painting on my mesh. I see that you did it here. But I would suggest maybe to change the vertex paint on the dress itself. You can change the paint to 007F00 and keep the skin the way it is to see if the game take it into account now. You should get something like that in blender
Did that method work for you? I'll definitely give it a try later today

Okay I have deleted the extra materials. I went in game and the sliders still don't work with the mesh, although skinny sims seem to fit fine?

Okay so everythihng is fine lol, after trial and error and restarting again. I only have one more problem and it's the uv_1. I followed the tutorial by eliavah but the mesh isn't just doing the data transfer properly. I honestly don't know what else to do, because I've done this over and over again, but the data transfer looks nothing like displayed in the video and tutorial from eliavah's thread? Meaning when she does the data transfer, there's a new texture on the mesh which is like the sims skin? It doesn't do that for me. I'm not sure what's going on lol but here is the blender file if anyone wants to take a look at it. download

Subdivide the mesh that you transfer data from. Not your mesh. And your picture is too small to see what's wrong. You can post big picture and hide it in spoiler tags. Fixed the picture! And alright, ill try that

Update: So I tried the subdivide method and it didn't smooth it out at all.. in fact it made it more rough and made the tris increase a lot

I'm seconding Inabadromance. Subdividing the mesh helps to achieve better results when it comes to uv_1 transfer. Much better results. They won't be perfect due to different structure of EA and MD meshes (polygons placed in a different way). MD meshes will morph differently unless you do retopology of the mesh (take a look here to see how another creator retopolgized custom mesh to adapt it for game standards). I haven't done it yet, and it's not a trivial task for beginner. Thanks so much feyona! I am currently doing this Will update soon

The preview from s4s will not display exactly how the item is going to look in game, specially if we're talking about weights and uv_1. I suggest you take a look at some of the tutorials that slyd has on his page for smooth transfer that can be applied to weight and uv_1. You reply so fast.. I appreciate all the help you are doing! I'm currently looking at this tutorial and will update the thread soon on the progress!

Okay so I re-started (many times), and I managed to follow the steps in Eliavah's tutorial 100% as well as the tutorial by owl plumbob. In S4Studios, the mesh turned up fine as well as the baked textures. But in game it turned out all wonky? I am not sure, but perhaps I did a step wrong regarding the UV map but I'm not sure what exactly since I've done it atleast 5 times over again. Here is a download link to the .blender file here

Alright that's fixed now! But now I have a problem with the UV Map itself, now that they're in the same uv map layer, I'm not sure how to edit the dress with the ea body uv. Other tutorials show that they delete certain clumps of the ea body but this is a strap? So how can i put the dress uv onto the ea uv without it overlapping..
