I am not sure I understand what you want.
You want to create an object. Here a statue, that would be a complete Sim? Is that right?

Glad to hear it works now :D well done.
As for the texture I am not very good at that but I suppose if you take a high definition adidas logo and simply shrink it down to add in on the texture instead of this one it should appear more clearly. I mean, I think :p

Hi Orangemittens,
Thanks for the feedback. I was expecting this kind of problem arising. Well, at least I know now :D

It looks much better yeah. but too long I think. You will have overlapping texture from the pants on the bottom part of your mesh.
Even if you are not finished you can import that in studio with let's say a sweater texture to see how it applies on the mesh. That will help you understand what need to change. But you are on the right track.
Also for the 2 cones, I believe they are inner part of the mesh. You could maybe select those only and redo the Uv unwrapping by doing a : unwrap -> "project from view" when you are looking from the top or bottom (you might need to press "Y" before unwrapping or some vertices will be attached to each other without moving as part of 2 potential position). That way you would have circles instead of cones. But on the other hand, considering what they are you can also not bother much with them, shrink them to a small shape (like a dot :p )cause this part of the mesh will not be visible in game normally.

Nice Hi there, There is probably no weight assignment and no uv_1 either I would guess. Hard to say without your blender file. Is it an accessory pants ? or a Cape ? more a cape I guess. Then it is a weight issue. Your mesh is not assigned to the proper bones and not properly weighted. Not sure what tutorial to link you to create a cape accessory tho. You can maybe transfer the weight from a top at least to see wat it gives you. You can use this tutorial to try that.

Hi good morning (at least for me :p )
You did not resize the uv_1 map after you were finished adjusting it. You need to select your whole uv_1 then scale it x2 on the x axis and move it back from -512
Or as quoted by Eliavah :
That should fix it.

Well, you can download the latest version 2.77 and see if you have the same issue. If not at worst you can do your vertex painting in the latest version. You can have both installed on you computer, just give it a different folder name at the installation.

Did you try with another version from Blender ? What version are you using by the way ?

Alright so I got what I needed from CmarNYC at modthesims as he/(she?) originally created for TS3 what I wanna redo in TS4.

Ok. I noticed you applied a material to your cube so you need to tick the option : "vertex color paint" in the material tab. (although it worked for me without that) See screenshot. Go back to object mode and create a Torus then back to vertex paint to see if it does the same. It somehow paints only full faces in your blender instead of diffusing paint from the vertex itself.

Ah ! I finally understand what is wrong in your first screenshot !! Like the trousers on the screenshot are black I didn't realise the PANTS are overlapping ON the sweater. -_- Another thing now that I looked at your mesh in s4s preview window. We should also see the bottom of the sweater on the front side. But we don't. So those are wither due to the mesh being too small, but I doubt it as you probably created it in marvellous designer. So it is probably a weight issue and an uv_1 issue. You can follow this tutorial for the uv_1 and this one for the weight.

I cannot look at your mesh unless you upload the .blend as well (I'm at work and the mac version of s4s doesn't allow exporting the mesh)
