hi! i'm not sure i'm understanding.. can you post a picture of the item and what you mean by "curve" an object? thanks! Theres a modifier in blender named curve. I use it to curve/bend objects such as pipes, legs (chairs for example). But for an object to bend proper with a round look, you need to subdivide and that increases the vertices etc. Maybe there is another way to bend/curve things, but im not familiar with another method.

Whenever i need to curve an object, i am trying to use the array, decimate modifier to decrease the vertices and faces. Its a bit annoying and the texture doesnt always looks nice on it eventually, cause the object is too much deformed. Are there any other known tricks for sims 4 objects to have less faces/vertices?
I didnt know, but when you split egde, the vertices sometimes get 7 times more. And i need to split edge on most of my objects.. How do you deal with this?

Yes i was thinking about recloning it too. Its a bit annoying, cause i have to make it alpha again or clone a plant and make it a fireplace. So either way, its a bit effort. Thanks for looking at it.

What confuses me with the lit ip image, is that i have a transparant rack in my UV. I have painted everything black expect for the wood part, the rack and the blue tiles inside the fireplace. i made them a shade darker and sprayed them with orange light. Im not great with photoshop, so thats why i asked a tutorial how to do that best. It can be very confusing.. even that. Any way.. blend with vertex paint: www.mediafire.com/file/2khqoubb81m7qnw/FIREPLACE.blendpackage: www.mediafire.com/file/tv7dj4mgw3358me/Framed+Fireplace.packageI have used vertex paint before with lamps and they worked fine. I have renamed the vertex painted blender mesh file and imported it again, but it didnt work I have also made a whole new mesh by importing my own mesh again into a new EA blend.file and changed the cuts again.. but it didnt work. Dont quite get it. Hope u can figure it out

Thats weird.. I thought i had imported the new mesh with vertex paint like this.. guess something went wrong. EDIT: I keep importing the correct mesh with vertex paint, but then when i export that same mesh again, the vertex paint isnt there. Why is that??? Is there a tutorial on how to edit a lit up image best? Thats what the first picture is supposed to be.

Ok so im back again. I have only one problem left now (thanks to all your guys help here and that is still the part where the fireplace all shines bright white light when lit up. It happened after i split edges on the object. I have vertex painted it as well btw, but the problem still occurs. Here is the package file: www.mediafire.com/file/tv7dj4mgw3358me/Framed+Fireplace.packageThe only thing i can suspect i did wrong, is the lit up DTS image without black surroundings. Is that it?

Never mind, i realised the shine on certain objects was also because of not doing 'split edge'. thanks again for you help!

I have tried to make a fireplace. Whenever my sims light it up, the whole fireplace turns bright white. Its impossible to see the fire. I have vertex painted it the way above. In the middle its more white and the outside grey/black. Although in the game i see nothing from it. Could you help me? Why this keeps happening?
I did it with multiple lamps before and it worked fine.

I thought i was done with this endless problems of this particular bookshelf. So another problem bumped up on me of course. In the s4s the mesh looks good and all, but in the game the UV seems to be off place. I dont think the UV is wrong though, so i want to be sure the problem isnt somewhere else before i start recreating a new UV to edit. I have checked the DTS images and they are kind of confusing me, cause there a lot and even double ones. Im not sure what they mean and if i did something wrong there. Can anybody take a look at it for me and tell me what i did wrong there? I used a coffee table from EA with glass, so that i could have glass shelves for the booshelf. I understand that my mesh now has two textures and i have edited them both correctly, but i have no idea what all the other DTS images mean and if I even replaced the blanc and specular image correct. I have uploaded the package.file here: www.mediafire.com/file/ha4byy04qgx4gmp/Metal_bookshelf.packageAnd just in case you want to have a look at the UV, heres the blender.file: www.mediafire.com/file/v7al0m6b34213k2/bookshelf.blend

oh ok great, so even if the s4s doesnt show them after clearing the cache, in the game they should appear? I have one more question about the shiny objects. The blanc and specular files i have downloaded from the tutorial of this website, are they having standard shine in them? Just like the black bookshelf shows in the images above? If so, how do i get rid of the shine for certain objects? Is this explanation and download any good: www.ohmysims404.tumblr.com/post/129846136654/how-to-remove-shine-from-objects-do-it-yourself? Big thanks for being so amazing as always!

oops i deleted the image by accident. Is there a way to get it back other than creating a new 3D mesh package file from the main menu?
And could u tell me how to delete the cache?

thank you! :D The mesh on the sims 4 studio looks fine now. The catalog image still has the weird shadows though.. why is that? how that can be fixed?

Why do i have these weird shadows on my objects? (see arows). I just used cubes to create the mesh and im sure i seamed it correct. In the cataloc picture, you can see the white bookshelf has also some other weird shadows on it. Im not sure, but in the game it wasnt looking like this, so why does the catalog image looks like that? I have also pasted the black swatch in it, and that one looks way too shiny. I have red something in this link: ohmysims404.tumblr.com/post/129846136654/how-to-remove-shine-from-objects-do-it-yourselfIs it true that the specular and bump i have download from a tutorial here, have standard shine like this in them? So would it be a solution to download this fix from the link above? I do not want the shininess for certain objects. I have also included a screenshot from how i replaced the specular and bump, did i do it correct? Cause i cant seem to find the problem with the weird shadows.
