It's a tool provided to you for free by volunteers who get nothing in return. Asking you to register is a pretty small request in exchange, in my opinion. This is true. Orangemittens and the contributors get nothing in return for their efforts other than user praise and members looking at the net15 (or whatever pay out they are) popups and ads. Registering an account here to get the free software, the associated tutorials and the community support are well worth it.

So here I am, ETC. Anyone else feel similarly? My unwanted advice to you...cool your jets. Sims 4 Studio is a very tranquil, peaceful and professionally ran site.

Hi Kendo 2, if you haven't already, I recommend reporting this to EA to see if they have an explanation. I spoke to a tech person there on the phone this morning. He suggested not running the game in Windowed Mode with max resolution. The suggestion helped some but I ended up adding more memory to 'fix' the issue. And I've reinstalled the game from scratch and not included City Living and a few of the stuff packs I don't use on a regular basis. My CPU usage is back down to around 55-60% with Origin and Sims 4 running. I suspect EA changed some graphics settings with the Toddler/Vampire update. I spent 4 hrs yesterday running checks and scans on my rig and everything is okay, and Sims 4 is the only game being affected. I suspect Sims 4 will end up being like Sims 3 for some players; the more content packs and updates they add the more memory they use, until it gets to the point where the minimum or recommended specs simply won't handle the game anymore. Thank you for your response.

The subject line says it all. I've looked at various forums on-line and others are having similar issues, but no one has answers.
Sims 4 is the only game or process being affected like this. I can run Witcher3 with Ultra graphics settings and my CPU usage is stable at about 60%. Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas run at about 43%, and that's on maximum settings and both games are heavily modded.
For Sims 4, after the Toddler update was released I did the usual preventive measures; removed the folder at C:\Users\MyName\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. I moved the Sims 4 folder to my desktop, started the game so it would make a new folder, get the game updated, etc. Then I added my saves, Tray and Mods back and played the game. Everything worked fine for about four days and then my game suddenly crashed to BIOS without a warning or any error messages. Now Sims 4 clocks my CPU at close to 80% when sitting idle and near 100% if I try to actually play the game. Before the BIOS crash Sims 4 ran about the same as my other games.
My Intel CPU core is running at 3.01 Ghz (the maximum I can get with a dual core). I have a 120GB of free disk space and my Physical Memory never tops 45%. I have almost all background processes disabled out of habit. With 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 550Ti graphics card that is more than enough machine to run Sims 4. As I stated the game was fine until the Toddler update. I haven't installed any new software (other than the Sims 4 update), nor have I downloaded or installed anything else.
Anyone know what's going on and how to fix it?

The animation would be great for a 'caffeine addict' trait. :D

I've done some tinkering with this issue because I had it too. I didn't like the way female leggings looked with the default panties beneath (panty lines) so I made a 'nude' version. They look like yoga pants but the game thinks Sims wearing them are naked. The fix for me was to make a new package file for the meshes and textures with new tags that don't include 'nude' or 'situation'. I tried editing the original package I made and no-dice. Sims were still gasping and 'See what's happening' everywhere. It was really annoying at the gym.

My name is Kendo 2. Some here might know of my mesh and rigging work for games like Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim. I also mod other games, but only for personal use. I am also a 3D Poser artist and modder but I keep that separate from my gaming life since I treat it as a source of extra revenue, not entertainment. Sims 4 is my first Sims game but I have to admit it is eating my life; I like it that much. It is a nice change from shooters and the action adventure genre. My primary interest in modding Sims 4 is meshes for female bodies and clothing. You might say I'm infamous for it since I focus on skimpy/sexy/NSFW content. I doubt anything I normally make would be welcome here but I do make pumps, stipper elevators and jewelry too so I might have something I'm allowed to contribute. Regadrless I'll share modding information or discoveries I make. Personal: I'm 51 years old (wheezing geezer), semi-retired, happily divorced and still intentionally single, and I enjoy good food and drink and my 15lb female tabby cat named 'Nothing Yet'.
